Well done. I hope you will stay true to your name always posting and keep posting and let us know how you are getting on with paying off your debt. I hope soon you will be coming on line to say that you are now debtfree and you have started saving for your car again.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Getting added onto insurance as 3rd part is not cheap - if you're under 21. I would estimate about £600-700 without even knowing any details before you start (in 2000 when I was 17 it cost my dad £750 at least for a 1.1 Escort...). Also, can't start driving lessons without a theory test pass (usually) so I think you've already done that?
But I generally agree, when I learned to drive it was an hour a week and I had 8 lessons. I understand what you mean about wanting to do it as much as you can, but surely you can put it off just for a while until your debt is clear? It will be much better in the long run, you might even be able to afford more lessons when test time comes!
Good luck, whatever you decide to do.0 -

9.00 - cc1 payment (direct debit)
total = 651.20
It isn't quite true that you only have 6 pound odd when you are having driving lessons, eating, saving etc. Seems you are doing Ok to me, and could free up some more money by making some small sacrifices.Official DFW Nerd 071/£2 saver=£10

Is your mum willing and able to get a 0% cc that you could BT your debts on to and you give her the money (setting up a DD perhaps). You would then start to reduce your cc quicker.0

Sadly... I wanted to help a friend to do this but the "burden" on my own insurance was far too ridiculous!!Also, can't start driving lessons without a theory test pass (usually) so I think you've already done that?
I don't think that's the case? You can start driving lessons with a provisional but have to have passed the theory before you can take the practical as far as I remember."Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

so when you said you were going to have to "live on" £6.77 you didn't mean that £6.77 was all you had left to buy food, bus fares, etc etc (i.e. actually LIVE ON it)
if you think i am being a bit harsh there then please consider that:
1. you have a very small debt in comparison to many people here
2. it is unlikely that your mother will see you go without food and shelter - for some of us that is not the case
3. you are looking at your cup as half empty when in reality you have all your basic needs covered
4. you even enough money to take driving lessons and make savings - once the driving lessons you are choosing to spend your money on are done and you have passed your test you will have loads of spare money (until you start saving for a car!) therefore your situation is temporary.
5. however much you earn you can only spend it once - if you were earning £40k and wanted to learn to fly a helicopter you would only have £6.77 left then too!
you are lucky that once everything is paid including non essential items such as online games and 40 into savings you still have money left over.
and if you add the £11 from the phone company you have £17.77 - out of which i could get 3 nights out (you've already budgeted to pay the bills) - cinema a couple of times and an ice skating session.0
