+1 for above, the on screen (blue button?) and newspaper instructions do suggest a full retune / factory reset, not a simple add channels.Move along, nothing to see.0

spud17 is correct. It's complicated because there are regional variations, but basically channels are being moved, so you need to make your freeview box forget where all the channels are, and look again. If you haven't retuned yet, you should find that you've lost channel 5. If you didn't have it anyway, you may have it now. Up until now you were just adding channels, but they've been rearranged now.
My previous links will help people with channels in the 800s.
My particular problem was fixed with an over the air update over 3 days in September, when the box wasn't switched on, so didn't get the update. Echostar got back to me saying the update would be re-broadcast in the next 4-6 weeks.

I keep losing channel 5. I have to retune it every day to get it back. It seems to disappear around midday and happens on both tv's. Has anyone else had this problem?0

Last week I have changed it from the 14day extended version, to the 8 day freeview+ version.0

I';ve just read through this and I'm mind boggled. I can just about manage my lap top -not a clue when it comes to freeview .........OH knows more about it but he's given up now. We got it sorted, we thought, but today lost some channels (can't remember which now) but as a result OH has disconnected the freeview box and we're back on 'normal' tele............(sigh of relief)
Monday I'll get the chap from the local tele shop to have a look. Hope we don't have to buy a new freeview box........thats out of the question for us at the minute.
OH's not well and could do without all this.
I've looked at websited, FAQ, troubleshooting etc. and it means nothing to me I'm afraid.
And.......yes, I am an OAP...................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
