:j. Got home today to find a letter from n-power. At first I thought it was junk mail so it was a good job I didn't just bin it, anyway they have said that they made an error in 2007 for the way they charged for gas so are refunding me £55.07. :j. So happy! Asked oh what we should do with the cash and he wants to pay it off cc's but we need to buy a carpet for the hall next month (in budget) so I have suggested holding on to it untill we know for definate how much it will cost.
Paid another £10 to halifax today. thats an additional £45 now this month to that card. These overpayments are getting addictive!cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Morning,
Been on here since early, read some diarys, checked bank account no change. Went into my overdraft on Monday(as i do every month) and as the lovely halifax charge me £1 a day for the privilige and I don't get paid untill next Friday that was gonna cost me £12 next month, now normally I wouldn't be that bothered but now I see that £12 as £12 off my cc. so as I had £40 left in my personal budget (my £5 a day) i paid £30 into my account so that it is now in credit again therefor I'm not paying £1 a day. So account is now £2.67 in credit and it has to stay like that untill my dd's come out next Thurs. So next month i'll only pay £3 for my overdraft. Simple. Now I have £10 to last me untill next Friday, Can this be done! I have £6 left in my shopping purse which I will use today for milk, bread and sandwhich meat and then thats it untill next Friday. Most of my tenner will go on bus fares i would imagine if I am working different shifts to oh and not able to get a lift in but i'll use my loose change tin if ness.
Not a lot planned for today, will have to venture out at some point to get milk and will go to the gym this evening. Going to make a load of chilli later in the slow cooker and seeing as we will be living of freezer contents for next week I may do a meal plan. Long gone are the days when i'd run to tesco with my credit card to do a shop!
Been worrying about our works xmas do this year. Nothing is paid for, we have to fund it ourselves and I just can't be arsed with it this year. I have worked out that its going to cost me roughly £200+ this is factoring in a new outfit, hair ect and normally it would go on a cc but that is not an option now. I am thinking of backing out, its not like I am close to any of the other people and it can all become a bit 'show' if YSWIM.
back later if anything to report.cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Hi
£200 sounds an awful lot of money, and good for you for not putting it on a cc.
I stopped going to works do's because it was about being seen there. was really expensive, and as a non drinker, there is a limit to the amount of Christmas drunkenness you can put up with. Our team used to go out, just for drinks, and that was usually a good night, maybe there is something like that you could do.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi,
Well I made the decision that i'm definatly not going to the xmas party. I just can't justify the expense this year and no way do I want to spend that type of money to be with a bunch of people who I wouldn't normally socialise with. So i'm glad that that is sorted, normally I dither for weeks then end up going and I do enjoy myself until I get my credit card bill after xmas!.
I get paid on Friday:j. My current account is still in credit by £2.77 and no dd's due to come out until Thursday so won't go into my overdrft untill then. Wish I could pay this off but its £550 and I know i will keep using it so it is a non priority debt at the moment. Just checked through all my transactions for this month and I have managed to make £140 in overpayments this month and £90 of these weren't planned, just shows what a bit of focus can do.
Day off today with oh so are planning on having a nice day, might have a drive out somewhere later and i'm planning on doing us a nice breakfast in a bit. Off to catch up with some diarys!cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Well yesterday turned out to be a nsd which is just as well as I'm living off the contents of my loose change jar this week. Can't wait to get paid now, not to spend money but to pay some more off my debts, mad isn't it that I now get the same type of buzz paying off my credit cards as i do buying stuff and putting it on my card. Wonders will never cease! Also I can't wait to get home and see if any of my statements have arrived in the post! Sad arn't I.
Had a bit of a down day/night yesterday and just felt a bit up and down and ended up in bed at 10pm crying my eyes out for no apparent reason. My mood swings are off the scale at the moment and i really need to try and controll myself as my oh is getting a bit bewildered by it all.Feel a bit better today tho!
A low spend day today and managed to just get away with bus fares today. Roll on Friday!cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Had a bit of a tiff on the way home tonight with the oh. I was simply trying to get him more organised in his approach to the way he manages his money and made a suggestion of taking his car-parking money (12 per wk) out at the beggining of the month and putting it in a envelope and then buying his weekly ticket so he dosn't have to pay the daily rate when he comes out without enough and has to go to the atm but he says i am too organised and he likes to be a bit forgetfull:mad: now and then!!! Anyway got a bit heated and now he's upstairs reading and i'm down here, he did spend about an hour going through his bank statment when he got in so I suppose bits are getting thru to him.
Counting down the days now until payday cant wait to get my hands on my wages to pay some more debts. Just watched Kirsty's homemade home and sitting here now wondering what I can restore!cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.

Hi BP
Still following your progress - you're still doing brilliantly! Why are men so weird around money? My OH is just the same - he's good to a point but if I start involving him in the budgeting too much he gets all stressed out. Find that the best way is just leave him out of it and sort it all myself as much as I can. It must be in their genes!
Anyway well done and I'll keep looking in on you.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi BP
I had a similar conversation with my DS at the weekend. He works nights so can't get a return ticket on the way to work as it's only valid for the day. He can't see the point in buying a weekly ticket in advance, or even getting a return ticket in the morning (when he's on his way home) and using the other half at night ( on his way to work).

Hi Sun Addict and gilliansyle, thanks for popping by, sometimes I feel like i'm just rabbitting away to myself so its good to know that people are reading!!!
Anyway trying hard to be inventive with the fridge/cupboard/freezer contents this week and i have suprised myself with the meals I have managed to turn out. Tommorrow and Friday may be interesting i'm having an onion and poppyseed bagel for breakfast tommorrow! but i'm determined not to put a shop on my card it will just have to wait untill saturday when I can finally get to Tesco.
Smiled to myself earlier, oh said that he can't wait to get paid so "i can give you some extra to pay off my cards" I could hardly belive my ears but then he ruined it all by buying some super shine carwash stuff from qvc for £20 and when I enquired how he paid for it he casually said "oh I used my card".cc & o/d debts 4/2/11 - 12209.
