Definitely know where you're coming from Katy - can't believe the comment below the article from someone:
size 16 before?????? add a two to the 6 instead might be closer to the mark. looks like an obese elephant.

If they think that's obese then no wonder people feel under pressure to be skinny!

Hmm maybe the person who made that comment should have attached a pic of themselves in swimming clothes!!

I saw her on family fortunes and her haed looked so big, think she has gone too skinny.

I really want to loose a good few stone, so no more crisps and choc,(daily!!) less alcohol and more exercise..to skint for pizza and other take outs at the moment, so no problem there.

Oh the type of person to make that comment must surely look like Angelina Jolie's better-looking twin. I mean, really!! People are just awful sometimes...no wonder so many young girls end up with eating disorders and food issues.

  • Awful isn't it - the sheer amount of pressure put on those in the public eye to confirm to this identikit image. Sure she looked terrible in the bikini, but would have done better losing a little weight and getting some sensible "what not to wear" sort of advice rather than crash dieting like she has. The damage it does to your body is incredible isn't it.

it's terrible isn't it, my 10 year old nephew who is not overweight has been asking his mum for 2 or so years when he can join Weight watchers as he's fat!

Both my sister and i struggle with our weight and have a lot of issues left by our mothers attitude whilst we were kids and to be honest even now so weight has always be a no no to be discussed in front of her children, we've even had to pull my mum up with her occassional comment about the kids so that they don't end up like us.
    It's just completely bonkers.
I had a friend who did lighter life and was so terrified to start eating she would only resort to lettuce leaves months after she was suposed to stop the diet or wean herself off it. I'm even worried about what she actually did do whilst she was pregnant because i'm sure she was still terrified to eat at that stage.

Have got my friends coming up to stay for the weekend today - ended up spending a fortune (£78) in M&S yesterday . Had some vouchers but it turns out £30 doesn't go that far in there. Then my visa electron spends account card got declined because I was £3 short (thankfully - didn't want to go overdrawn) so I had to pay it from my barclays account. I was very worried that it would send me into my reserve but the good news is my natwest payment doesn't go out till monday when I get paid so I do have enought to cover it.

I was really upset about it last night but I'm a bit philosophical today, yep shouldn't have done it, should have planned better and saved more but I've got a fridge jammed with food, we shouldn't have to eat out over the weekend, I'm feeding 5 people tonight and tomorrow and 7 on Sunday so that is going to make a big difference and it will mean I don't have to spend the whole weekend in the kitchen when I want to be spending time with my friends.

Excuses I know and not very DFW but I am trying to think of the positive in that 1) I knew how much money there was in my Barclays account and that it would cover it and 2) There was not a credit card in sight, or in fact within about 5 miles where they are hidden in an envelope in my wardrobe until they can be cut up one by one.

Hopefully we are going to go out for a drive toward the Cairngorms tomorrow, weather depending anyway. Will be lovely to get out for the day and we have heard about this handmade chocolate shop out there which might just have to be visited ;) xx
