Feeling quite pleased with myself and my spending this month, which makes a change! I've been really strict on only going shopping when I really really need something and trying to stick to my list, not that it always works! I've also added on everything I buy in the supermarket - usually my biggest downfall is calculating my food shopping but not all the other bits that fall in the trolley

It can be hard sometimes as I work in a supermarket, but on the other hand my teabreak is at the same time as the whoopsies tend to be done, so last night I ended up with 2 red cabbages, 2 bags of satsumas, 1 bag of apples, 2 packs of mangetout and 6 cobs of corn for just under £1 :D Even I was surprised at the bargains, must've been a slow shopping day! I needed the fruit for the kids anyway, and the corn and mangetout will get used up as snacky bits for dinner on Friday. The cabbage I got because I love it, and turns out we're cooking pork for our village travelling supper on Saturday (OH was given a large joint of pork by his meat supplier) so braised cabbage will go well with it.

Can you put me down for £400 for November please!

Hopefully my spending will be much lower as I want to eat from the cupboards and freezers as much as poss and use any spare money for Christmas! ;)

What with morning sickness and having to reapply for my job I have not been keeping track of my spends since somewhere around August.

The sickness is going but I still don't know if I will keep my job but am feeling motivated to get back into the swing of the GC.

Helen, please can you put me down for £250 for November and I will try and work out a guesstimate of where I am with my annual budget.

We have finally got electric put in the garage so I can start batch cooking again and use my Mum's old freezer that has been sitting in there doing nothing for months. It will also use up the 9 bags of quorn I got on half price and haven't done anything with:o
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • another £12 added in bread/milk/potatoes that will see me through to friday and my big shop
    DEBT

My biggest spend this last week has been from a different budget - I've spent £22.85 on £46.73 of cleaning products from the C00p sale. I'm now well stocked on washing powder (bought 9 bags), all purpose cleaner (bought 16 bottles), and toilet cleaner (bought 9 bottles) for next year, and probably heading into 2011 as well ;) They're all the ecological ones I make an effort to use, so I'm really pleased with this :T Also bought 1 bottle each of washing up liquid and cream cleaner, which are again the ecological ones - would have bought more but that was all they had.......

Wow that was well done! :T Is the sale just because your Coop is closing down or is it worth me taking a trip out?

Been to Asda spending £30 which takes my Grocery Challenge to date to £90 (refund of £23 from Pet Planet pending). Pretty amazing given I was at £70-odd a week into October! :o

Bought a dozen happy eggs, three blocks of cheese, whoopsied sausages, two fresh trout, Smartprice chicken wings and prawns for Noah, four bars of ES dark chocolate, two whoopsied cherry pies and some fruit and veg. Should last two weeks with what I already have in, may need squash and baked beans but they are cheap. :money:

Decided to skin and freeze all the chicken wings this afternoon so they remain fresh. Before a chicken wing even got to Noah's bowl he was purring loudly and then devoured it!! I cannot believe it, he actually prefers raw chicken to stinky fishy cat food, and the wings are healthier AND cheaper.

Creeping in to say that with 9 days to go I am nearly touching my budget. On the positive side I have 9 chickens in the freezer, and the Christmas turkey. Going to Makro for the first time in years was fatal. Fond of my lovely husband as I am, did we really need venison and ostrich steaks?

Boys are off for half term this week so no plans for shopping before next week, so I may yet make my target. I did a store cupboard audit today and we are not too bad for most things right into next month including pet food. Struggling with the concept of running out of things instead of hoarding furiously.

    Declaring at £143.92 for October.

    £150.00 again for November please.

I’ve managed to stay out of the supermarkets for the last couple of days, so I haven’t added to my total. I am working on my list for the big shop at the beginning of ‘November’ & will do that tomorrow, as I am working at home. It’s currently standing at just under £70 on mysupermarket, which is within my budget of £75/half the total.

Angelfeathers – You can pay for the annual prescription pre-payment certificate by monthly direct debit over 10 months, so just over a tenner a month for the 10 months:

Should be OK though doing some shopping on Sat (last for this month)
My friend gave me a big bag of cooking apples as she is off to florida tomorrow so I will get stewing to make crumbles and leave her one for when she gets home

Just because they're closing down :(

Another £5.75 spent tonight, on a haul with a shelf value of £12.95

58p in Mr M on 2 packs of mini scotch eggs (total value £1.66) - now in freezer, as I plan to try and use some space as it appears starting to stock up for Christmas. If I don't start now I'll get into December with no freezer space

    The rest in C00p

    Two bags of frozen veg
one of cauli, brocolli and carrots - 90p instead of £1.79
one of 'mixed veg' - 65p instead of £1.29

and a bag of roast potatoes (something DS hinted at the weekend we haven't had for a while) - 92p instead of £1.83

Pack of 4 Linda Mc Country Pies (for me) - £1.20 instead of £2.39

    And (in readiness for Christmas)
Pack Chicken Satays - 50p instead of £1.99
Pack of cocktail sausages in bacon wraps - £1.00 instead of £2.00
