Thanks double mummy.

We have decided to book the hotel. Went in today for a look around with my mum and the lady is going to hold the date an extra week so my dad can look round and maybe pay the deposit!

We're keeping ours a secret til all the big things are booked. Driving everyone mad haha but it's nice that just we know just now.

Got hotel, photographer and humanist celebrant booked. Just need to do a band pleased it's gone well just now.

In love with our photographer he's amazing. Scott Hogg Photography if anyone wants a nosy he does really modern, dramatic shots!

Bought the cake toppers! Got to love ebay! Saw people were managing to do save the dates free from vistaprint! Away to have a nosy as free is right up my street!!

Thanks Double mummy they dont have many people going to the church and are just struggling to keep it going so we are just keepin are fingers xsd and wont really know until the end of nxt year.

Congrats in booking ur venue Lauralou we just paid the deposit on ours 2day we'd looked all over for ours then all of a sudden found this one and we both felt it was the right place ist that strange! Also went to try on some wedding dresses and wont be going there again Im in plus size she asked when I was getting married she said oh u'll be best looking at thes website to know wot u want the coom back nxt year 5mins later I was trying on 2 dress and she was pushing me to put a deposit down on one! I did fall in love with one its a Ellis Bridal 11032 its nickname is the princess frog dress wish I knew where I could get it cheaper lol. If your like me half the people are saying it wont belong and the other half look at me gone out but i'm so excited!:rotfl:

Hi everyone!
We've got our date set for 25th August 2012!! Very excited! Today we bought the first thing ever for our wedding (little draw sting bags for the favors), even more excited now!
I've got my amazing wedding planning spreadsheet (which I refer to at least once a day!) We've got a budget of about 6k... but parents have offered to pay for the reception (too kind) and we're hoping that the honeymoon will be mainly paid for by the guests (a bit cheeky I know), we already have enough stuff as it is so don't want any presents!
We are going to start looking around at venues next week - what happens when you go to look at venues? Has anyone tried haggling?

splodge have you tried looking at the chineese dress thread there are some good websites on there that can do the dress you want for quite cheaply, i am plus sized and when i walked into my local dress shop and asked what they had in my size they laughed at me and said they only stock up to a 16!! and fingers crossed for the church

giddy haggaling is ALWAYS good, you never know if you dont try some people on here have got some serious money or lots of extras just by asking
