hi choc addict welcome and congratulations!
first you need to decide how many people are going to be coming as some venues are limited by numbers, some needing minimum numbers and some being small spaces
then you need to decide where you want to get married, church or venue? if venue, registry office or licensed premisesI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
Woohoo!! Many congratulations chocaddict, and welcome to the board!! (warning - it gets very addictive...:p)
1. Work out your budget based on what you can reasonably save in the time allowed and any family contributions
2. Decide whether you want church, civil or other (such as Humanist) ceremony
3. Rough idea of guest numbers
4. Decide what is most important to you (amazing photos? dream venue? all-out party? great food?) and allocate your budget accordingly
That'll do for startersThere are loads of planning tools around, online, in bridal magazines and books, so check those out as well.

Hey and thanks!
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Passed by far too quickly!
We've started on guest list and it's enormous!!!! Yikes  I have a big family, OH doesn't but we do have a LOT of friends who we see a great deal off....also there are a LOT of children which horrible as it sounds I don't think I want all at the wedding or it'd make up 25% of the guests and for me that's far too many. Oh dear, this is proving difficult already.
Have a few mags to start going through and look at things. Very exciting. Venues are being jotted down, think we'll book some viewings for early Jan and then go from there.
Hope everyone's planning is going well,

Choc-addict. Like you I don't want kids there as such so the only kids will be ours and my sisters kids. There are loads of other friends and family with kids but for everyones enjoyment we will not be asking them. We would rather the parents got to enjoy their day and all of the other guests too. And I would end up losing it with kids running round bashing into people all the time.....I'm not very tolerant! lolNo longer ...tobe!
