Congrats Anne you dont live too far away from me im near Bournemouth, where about in Southampton are you?

I went to another wedding fayre on Sunday, was really good and have seen a dress i really like so i may pop in there one day:D Still researching photographers. We have found a dj we like and he already has a few booking for 2012 so we going to book him soon..

My wedding folder has sooo much things in there now, with all the leaflets from the fayre:rotfl:!

Hullo fellow bride to be's!

Im also getting hitched in 2012 in Northern Ireland! So exciting- we have booked our venue, chapel, photographer and band! Gonna chill for a while now until next year!

Am entering every comp i can find- tip for you all, i created a twitter account and added a few wedding themed twitters. Requests came flooding in from other wedding parties/groups/ mags etc. Some gr8 competitions that i cant take any advantage of as the in England but u guys defo should do it!

Woo hoo finally all the big stuff is booked.

And Danielle you won't believe this but we're getting married on 8 September 2012 and in a Holiday Inn!! How weird!! It's Holiday Inn Aberdeen West we just love the hotel and the modern look etc.

V..V.V.V.V.V.V.VV. excited! Think we going to have a wee break with planning now though and just enjoy being engaged! Still...that's couple planning....as if I'm not going to google and snoop these boards on a regular basis!!

Congrats on booking the venue Joanne.

We have had to change our date to the 15th Sept as a few family members will be on holiday. The Holiday Inn still gaven't given us a quote. Its been a a few weeks.

So i am keeping my options open at the moment with the venue.

I am also going to have a look at The Two Bridges hotel and The Bedford Hotel.

At least you found out before you'd booked stuff that you needed to change date! Annoying about the no quote though the one up here had a brochure all good to go and the wedding co ordinator is sharp as a tack at getting back to us etc. I guess even though same chain each hotel is just different eh?

Good you've got other places in mind. In the shopping centre today Debenhams had a wedding special day had a right old nosy it was great. A bridal shop were there and cake people etc. Like a mini wedding fayre.

Wish I could justify a ridiculously colourful and crazy cake...just think it's a waste of money though!

Bluefire, I want to get married at your venue!! It's just the kind of thing I want - loads of character.

Get your photographer to take a photo of the two of you through that round window (just had a "Play School" flashback :rotfl:) - that would look fantastic!!

I am also a 2012 bride - no date set yet, but hoping to visit a few venues in the next month or so. Hoping for Late August/Early September...
