Hi,
Pleased don't get stressed...... firstly apply for a community care grant..... my daughter was in a similar situation to yourself and we had no room for a baby and she received help via a CC grant and a local charity. If you need any help with the form you can always Private Message me.
Take care and good luck.
Hi thank you for your kind words..i dont know why some people think its so wrong that all i want is a fridge and few other things to make sure my baby is safe and healthy.
I have printed off the form for cc grant but was told i can not apply for this because i havent just came out of care or prison ect...
Suppose there not harm in sending off to see what they say
Thanks0 -

instead of going strait for a crisis loan try a community care grant this should help you get the essentials you need even if you have goneand got it still claim for it on the form as it puts the expenses back in your pocket for the item include in the description, PRICE,FITTING,DELIVERY YOU CAN CLAIM ALMOST EVERYTHING CARPET, CURTAINS, KNIFES, FALKS,SPOONS,PLATES WASHING MACHINE,FRIDGE FREEZER,BEDS,COTS,SETTEE, E.T.C i have been in your position where i had to live with my parents plus my partner and twin daughters in a living room as we were on the waitin list for a home that we have, there are silly and unhelpfull comments here that dont help and people should keep their OPINIONS to themselfs and offer ADVICE this is what these forums are for.
main thing is not to panick and look closely at the essentials you need the argos bible is helpfull in looking for those things we overlook as essentials if you run out of room on the form put it on paper with name and national insurance number on it.0 -
Hi Corrin, sorry to hear of the situation you are dealing with right now. Having a baby is a major lifechange no matter what our circumstances are. As already mentioned, ANYONE IS ELIGIABLE FOR A CRISIS LOAN, whether they recieve benefits or not, http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP/Customers/WorkingAgeBenefits/Dev_013949.xml.html so i would definatley get in contact with them and give it another shot, it seems to me like you applied for a budgeting loan. as for the community care grant apply anyway, you never know if you don't try. I would advise you to get in touch with the baby's father, even though he threw you out, he has a responsibility to the baby and to you as the baby's mother. Life is hard, and being a parent is no picnic sometimes, but as we get older, we do get wiser, and we also learn to deal with things, adapt and compromise. I am mum of 4 children, i have faced single parenthood, marriage, homelessness and abuse, but i got through it, we learn to just accept the way things are and tackle things as they come. i am sure you will be a great mum and things will work out for you in the end, sometimes we take the long, scenic route to reach our destination!!!!
take care, and good luck.x0 -

Have you looked into getting some agency work, or a part time job or similar?
I agree that writing a list of essentials is a good idea. Perhaps you could post a list of exactly what you need, and we can help come up with some ideas?Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
hopefully when your baby is born he will have to face up to the responsibilty, afterall, it takes 2 to tango....

That's terrible corrin! Get the CSA involved once baby is born.
You would be better off financially to work a min of 16hrs pw and qualify for WTC. You may be entitled to help with childcare costs too.
