type furniture aid and your town into google and see if it throws anything up
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j

You are only 22 and you are living off benefits you are hardly in a position to criticise. I have worked with women who have continued working until they were 8 months pregnant and they were a lot older than you and had contributed a lot more to the state.

In all fairness, you're 22 so "all these years" is very few indeed ;)

On the advice front. The advice about Freecycle was spot on. My local list is constantly offering everything from washing machines to unicycles (yes, really!).

If you go to the Re-Use Network and click on the county you are in you'll get a list of organisations which supply furniture to those on benefits. Quite often your local council will either be running a scheme or can put you in touch with one so they'd be worth getting in contact with. You should also try Googling 'Community Recycling'

Excuse me but i am not criticising and i would have worked through out my pregnancy if it werent for my partner chucking me out so i had to move 300 miles back to my parents!!! All i am saying is it is not fair that people who have never worked r entitled to more then people who have worked despite how old or how many years...i thought this forum was to help people not have a go!

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression from the OP that what she really wants is a pocket full of free money to get her flat furnished - she is showing little or no interest in Freecycle or the other options open to her.

OP - stop whinging, you haven't got time, you have a baby on the way. Start scouring Freecycle & contacting local charities and/or Church organisations. You cannot afford to be picky now.

Time to step up to the plate and provide for your family. The tax payer are paying for your home/council tax etc. The least you can do it furnish it.

Crisis Loans don't have a 26 wk waiting period. There's no waiting period whatever.

Wasn't it perhaps a budgeting loan you applied for ? If so that leaves the option available to you to apply for a crisis loan to cover those items you need. There's also the possibility of a community care grant too.

You need to speak to your social fund office and/or welfare rights unit or the CAB to establish what your options are.

To be honest OP the people who have answered on here have given you useful advice. Believe me Motherhood will throw far more difficult situations at you in the future than this.
Also this baby has a Father who like it or lump it is also responsible for it's future. Make sure he takes his share of the responsibility .
There are loads of ways to furnish your home, just don't expect brand new.
