These machines will become more and more common as though expensive to install they'll pay for themselves through reducing the need to have deliveries of coin to branches.0

Ive seen these in a couple of the central london branches, is there any charge for using them? thanks0
-
Nope they are free to use0

My local branch of Waterloovile in Portsmouth, hampshire also has a machine, its only a small branch and hasn't been decorated that i can notice just fitted a new machine, the lady said you either insert your card and empty the coins, or you insert a paying in slip with your account details and then empty the cash in and of course theres not charge. They won't give my son an account with a card until hes 11, but i'm wondering seeing as she said you could just use a payin in slip perhaps i could open him a savings account there that he pay in using the coin machine. Hes only 6 but saving for a 'car' already for when hes a 'man'. If the branches near me have them then i'm sure most of them will soon, as we don't live in a big town.0

Possibly, but if i remember rightly, there was a slot at the bottom for rejected coins.
I cant remember now but when ive used the machines in the past rejected coins come out of both parts of the machine.
However im loving the idea of a cash machine dispensing coins lolIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Coin out slot is that not for rejected coins?
so glad i noticed this thread as have been in today and paid load of coins
they are right though, there are 3 coin areas,
1. the area where the rejected coins come (by the part where the coins are filtered into)
2. where the coins are filtered to pay in
3. there is also a slot by the screen marked coins as well,MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Oh cool that sounds positive to be honest i did not really pay much attention to the different slots etc. However I will give the machine a good one over on my next visit to the bank.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
