Coin deposit - Natwest

Hi all - I know there's already a post on this subject re: HSBC, but I didn't want to hijack.

Can anyone confirm if Natwest have these automated coin deposit machines that HSBC do? I called actionline and they hadn't a clue, and the website seems fairly vague - from what i can see they have note and cheque pay in machines, but no detail on coins.

I've a ton of coin to get rid of, and I'll have to use a coinstar otherwise.

Cheers in advance.

Natwest & RBS have similar machines youll find them in larger branches in city centres.

I took mine the other week and had a hundred and odd quid in change.

Hurrah! Cheers. Do they have a special name that actionline would know them by? I travel a lot with work, so i can just take my bag of copper with me

*edited back of copper to bag of copper, as I'm not a robot, nor is my back made of policemen...
  • Actionline may possibly know them by the name CDM machines they have just started the bigger roll out of them after the initial trials (well certainly in my region anyway) hope that helps

Please see my detailed post in the HSBC coin thread. The NatWest coin machines look quite different to the HSBC variety.

You can only pay in using the card or a paying in slip of the account that you're paying into.

They are indeed called CDMs, or Cash & Deposit Machines - just in case any of you guys were wondering what the letters stood for :D

Just to add to this not all of the cash and deposit machines have a coin facility so might be worth ringing the branch direct.

So I take it these are like the HSBC ones - where the money doesn't actually go into your account instantly?

I rather like the Halifax deposit machines, where my cash is showing straight away on online banking - but then of course there's no coin deposit on them!

Are you sure about this? Although I haven't used the coin ones, the cash ones show instantly for me.
