That's what I was going to say. Our NPB cases were getting too much for us, so we just went for instant payment across the board (reluctantly). Why don't you just go for instant payment. I don't always pay within an hour, depends what I'm doing and if I'm at a pc or on a phone. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Okay, wow. I didn't expect so many to have a hissy fit over my remarks when it's my own personal method, and you guys don't have any right to dictate what I should/shouldn't do.Sammy65, the fact that you were referring to BIN items with a 1 hour payment requirement is quite different to someone winning an auction! It would be odd not to pay for a BIN straight away surely!?!
If I win an auction during the day, I can't pay until I get home from work.
If you re-read what I wrote, I stated that what I eventually do depends on your feedback score etc. Granted, I'm fully aware that people need to be given a chance to pay for an auction, hence up to a day is given. But with BIN's, if you don't pay within the hour, I'll be relisting, then slapping a NPB on your !!! in due course.
Regarding paying for BIN's straight away, you'd be surprised how quickly a noob will buy the same item from multiple sellers, and pay for the lowest priced one. Thankfully, since eBay introduced this feature quite a while ago, I've set my auctions so that you have to pay immediately after using BIN to reduce this problem. Why don't you just go for instant payment. I don't always pay within an hour, depends what I'm doing and if I'm at a pc or on a phone.
Yep, that's what I do now anyway.I am allowed to use ebay during my lunch break at work, but the filters block paypal. I have bought BIN items before and paid when I get home. I usually email the seller to let them know why I haven't paid straight away, but now I'm worried I'm going to get seen as a NPB!
To be honest, I don't have a problem with buyers such as yourself. I've had people ask me to remove the "immediate payment" feature on my auctions so that they can pay later in the week, and I do that if they have a reasonable feedback score so I know they won't waste my time. Most of the time, they give me their telephone number or pay a few quid by Paypal to secure the item till they can pay in full. I don't have a problem with that. I only have a problem with time-wasters.You are not an NPB, sellers may huff and puff but there is nothing they can do until day 7 anyway. Although the limits are being reduced soon it still will allow days rather than minutes for payment.
Actually, sellers can do quite a bit. If you took the time to buy something, had a low feedback score, and didn't inform me about what's going on, I'm selling to someone else. And, like the other day, I don't care if you've been looking for this product for several years. He bought something off me for £750 (A vase). After 24 hours (He had a feedback score of 24), I sent him a couple of e-mails. He didn't respond. His loss - 2 days wasted chasing him. Relisted, sold it for £774. Then he sends an e-mail after seeing this vase for sale, saying he still wants to buy - Tough luck. Should've responded to my e-mails. Buyers, like I do, should inform a seller within 24 hours if they're having any problems. And 24 hours is more than enough time to do it.I hope you have this in your T&Cs so I can genuinely avoid your sales like the plague.
I have paid for every item I have won/BIN'd on ebay within a day or 2, even when I drunkenly bid and won an auction for a vintage mercedes.
Right. And how did anything I say just affect you? You paid for yours on time, I'm talking about time-wasters. Your reading skills are an inspiration to us all.stevew8975 wrote: »Since you can not open a dispute til 7 days has passed (soon to be 4 days), what do you do if the relisted item sells and the original buyer then pays?
Don't give a flying !!!!.stevew8975 wrote: »Do you honestly believe that your T&Cs are overriding the general eBay T&Cs ?
Don't worry about it, boy. You shouldn't think too much about these things since they seem to be a little too complex for you. Let the big boys handle this stuff.
I'll do what I want, when I want. And it works perfectly for me.He didn't say the 9000+ were positive. Ebay will love the repeat listing fees.
9000+ feedback score, with 99% being positive. I think that's pretty damn good. Wonder what yours is, eh?

Seriously though, if I bought from you and paid next day then how would you NPB me?
If you think you can NPB me then I can only assume you are not selling on ebay, maybe a different site where the rules are different?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So that'll be since you were born then? :rolleyes:I've been roaming the internet for over 15 years
Seriously, why is it so bad to wait 2 days for someone to pay?
If you did that to me I'd pay anyway and sting you with the fees- it's just bad business sense, since you will lose these fees, and presuming you are a powerseller, I'd be willing to bet that you'll be on reduced discount soon as well.
My feedback score by the way is 100% and soon to be TRS :beer:This is my opinion. Calling a BG an idiot... May I be the first to observe that your basic English reading skills have let you down? Surely reading the forum rules wouldn't take up too much time for a linguist of your calibre? My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
To quote from your actual post here:
" I give the vast majority of people at least 24 hours"
Vast majority does not equate to 'everyone'.
Therefore I ask again, if I buy at 5pm on a Wednesday and then wait until 6pm on Thursday to buy thus being outside your moveable criteria how exactly are you going to NPB me?
Or make it simpler if I buy on Wednesay at 5pm and pay Friday at 6pm what then?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well if you get a NPB against you, then surely you can also start a non performing seller, as according to Ebay you have 7 days to pay, I am sure that if all the disgruntled buyers did that, then Ebay would be another seller down, 9000+ or not.0 -

Under current rules an NPB can't even be started until day 7 after auction ends. If any buyer pays and has their money refunded then they can get any strike removed, plus seller gets a dashboard warning and probably a neg. Seller also loses their FVF reclaim.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Typical, silly replies by mentally challenged imbeciles.TurkishDelight wrote: »Seriously, why is it so bad to wait 2 days for someone to pay?

And this is why you're inferior to me. I can state with 100% certainty that if you paid after I had sold the item to anyone else, you'd just get a refund from me AND get slapped with an NPB. I'm just that damn good.
And obviously, your English skills are pretty poor too considering I did state that those whose feedback score is higher than around 30-40 are given AT LEAST 24 hours to pay, i.e. I give them time to pay, usually 1-3 days. What's the problem with understanding that bit? Am I talking Japanese since you guys don't seem to understand anything.Vast majority does not equate to 'everyone'.
Therefore I ask again, if I buy at 5pm on a Wednesday and then wait until 6pm on Thursday to buy thus being outside your moveable criteria how exactly are you going to NPB me?

I think I should be the one making it simpler (If that is even possible considering I am using basic English as it is) - Not sure where you learnt English, but I'd personally recommend closing that school down. I dread to think how many more people may have come out of that school with similar reading skills to you.
Back to your comment - Let's assume that you have over 30 feedback and it is at least 95% positive. First, I've stated earlier that those with feedback above around 30 get more than 24 hours to pay. Second, I've stated that these are MY terms and conditions. If you don't like them, go somewhere else. Third, you're trying to act smart regarding the 24 hour thing but completely missed what I said about giving buyers more than 24 hours to pay. Fourth, assuming you had more than 30 feedback, why would I bother filing an NPB against you if you have at least stated when you intend to pay; responded using some form of communication; haven't ignored any e-mails. Thus, if you bought something at 5pm on Wednesday and paid at 6pm on Thursday, there is no problem. If you intend to pay at 6pm on Friday, I would've sent at least one e-mail by Thursday asking you what's going on. Depending on your response (No response by Friday = Relist), I'd be better able to judge how to proceed.
Of course, I've got enough experience to know that if you have not paid within the first hour (Or two, just for the sake of argument) and you have under around 20 feedback, there is no point waiting for you to pay since there is a 99% likelihood that you won't ever pay. And I have far more important things to do than chase non-paying scum. What is the problem in trying to understand that?
If you think after today, I'll be changing things and giving all buyers at least 24 hours to pay, you're sorely mistaken. I'm the one that has the business and all the experience on how to deal with such people, not you. I'd appreciate it if you would stay out of my affairs. Those were my opinions earlier. If you disagree with them, fine. But I find it shocking that people are outright claiming that I am wrong when most of you probably have a feedback score of around 50, and probably sell rubbish, i.e. have no real experience in such matters.Well if you get a NPB against you, then surely you can also start a non performing seller, as according to Ebay you have 7 days to pay, I am sure that if all the disgruntled buyers did that, then Ebay would be another seller down, 9000+ or not.
I can honestly state that eBay won't do anything to me. They're making money from me, so why should they care about you? And it's not as if I'm selling counterfeit/fake/illegal stuff. It's all genuine. eBay knows about the problem of timewasters. Sure, one in every 100 timewasters will actually want to buy later, but I don't have the time to deal with such people. eBay will take my side over potential timewasters anyday. And have.Under current rules an NPB can't even be started until day 7 after auction ends. If any buyer pays and has their money refunded then they can get any strike removed, plus seller gets a dashboard warning and probably a neg. Seller also loses their FVF reclaim.
Yep, if you say so. Lol.Since you ask, 100%
On second thought, I don't care. Sorry.0
