Toots thanks for the dust but I don't need anynmore dust in this house lol!

I have just come back from work, checked computer to see if any more work is on offer (I'm only doing 11 hours per week at the mo which is not really enough to make ends meet). Signed off JSA today :j. I know I could stay on it as I'm not doing 16 hours a week but there doesn't seem much point really. I'm not going to be financially much better off but I'd rather not be on the dole as it is so bloomin' depressing! I'm a bit stuck because I'm not well enough to work full-time but I'm not disabled enough to be able to claim any disability-related benefits. But if my hearing gets any worse (I've just been fitted with my first hearing -aid and the doctors don't know if the hearing loss will progress) then I won't be able to do my current job and I'll be back to square one. However I will cross that bridge if I come to it.

I had better get off my well-rounded derriere and start on the bedroom - at the moment it resembles a cross between a jumble sale and a dog kennel as the dogs have been sleeping up there recently and there are dog blankets everywhere  I might even get the iron out .........:eek::eek:

Hmmm think I might take my camera up and photograph a 'before' and 'after' picture. If I pin them up on the wall it might motivate me to try and keep it tidy in future :rotfl::rotfl:

SarahSh - well done on the extra hours
soappie hope NN's back eases quickly - what a lovely neighbour your are - do you have a licence to push a wheelchair?????:rotfl:

Yes, I have a WAD - Wheelchair Advanced Driver's - certificate. When my Dad was alive, I pushed him for miles in his. It's like riding a bicycle - you never forget once you've learned.

Just got back and although I'd never pushed a chair with a basket attached to the front, we have achieved shopping without any damage so that's a job well done I think.

    Back to the floorboards now

    Afternoon all

    Today's list done :)

Two loads of washing on the line, it had the cheek to rain a little earlier so I got it back in but it's out again now.

Took the dog out for a nice walk then we called into the shops on the way back for DH to pick up his tablets and for me to pick up the dog's tablets.

Oh, and he finally put the two boxes up in the loft that have been waiting for nearly a week!

SS excellent news on your hours

Completed all my jobs in town. I have ordered the Fitflop boots I have been coveting. It it hard for me to find shoes which are comfortable with my dodgy foot so I'm trying to justify the cost to myself (I did sell my MBTs on ebay so that goes towards the cost).

I'm bunking of pilates, I'm really not in the mood to exercise or be socialable. I'm going to finish Nan's photo album. Have a cuppa and enjoy the peace.

  • Thanks Soappie and Dusty .... and good for you Dusty enjoy your peace, and spending time on the album.

Smiley do make sure there aren't any other benefits you're entitled to. I think it's so difficult when you're trying really hard to do the right thing, and it's made so bloomin difficult for you. What about tax credits? :)

Made egg mayo in pitta bread and falafel in pitta ready to sling in the freezer for lunches. yum!
