Advice regarding Natwest claim PPI

Hi guys,
I just wanted to update you and ask your advice again. I recieved another letter today and this letter says the following
Dear xxxxxxxx
Your payment protection Insurance policy with Natwest
You will recall that we wrote to you on 16 october 2009 about our investigation in to your complaint.
At the present time, I am continuing to gather information about your case, so that I can send you a full response. This means I have not yet completed my investigation. I hope to let you know my findings within the next four weeks, but if this is not possible I will let you know.
I do hope that you will allow me the opportunity to finish the investigation and respond to your concerns. I will be in touch again as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience, and if you have any questions, please let me know.
Ben Ryans
Case Officer
The letter is not a origonal, it is a photo copy you can clearly tell this as you can see the whole page covered in black streaks that you might get from photo copying using a bad all in one printer/scanner/copier. and you can see text from another letter on the bottom half of page.
Also the letter is not signed. The fact that the letter is not a origonal and that it is not signed rings alarm bells in my mind and makes me think even more that Ben Ryans doesn't exist.
The first letter I sent them I sent on 25th september and I clearly stated that They had 8 weeks to sort this out before I go to the Financial Ombudsman. The time is up next friday. Next friday will be 8 weeks.
What should I do, Do you think this letter is doggy, should I belive it and give them more time, should I waite till next week then contact the financial ombudsman or should I write back agin to natwest now.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance0 -
Hi,
I too recieved the same letters as you, however, wait and see they came up trumps with all of my claims! We have photocopies of various letters sent to us too. In my experience natwest kept sending letters to let you know they were dealing with the case and not fobbing you off.
In my signature below it shows how well we did with them.
I'd wait a while, with one of our loans it took longer than expected, but this was because they couldn't locate a file and they had to search through the paper copies, eventully they paid the full amount.
Good luck

I dont know whether this is relevent but i am also claiming for ppi from rbs/natwest that went to the fos in june, they are at the moment in discussions with the ombudsman regarding ppi claims and things seem to be stalling while these talks are being held, maybe just maybe this is why things seem to be dragging for you0

Hi guys,
Its me again. I wanted to give you another update and ask your advice. I Recieved another letter from natwest today and they have made me a offer of £3590.15. The loan protection on my aloan amounted to £3675. So this offer isn't even the amount that the loan protection is and doesn't take in to account the interest I have paid on top or the statatory 8% interest.
Sould I accept this offer or not. I don't know what to do. I could really do with the money. but don't know whether to accept or not as I feel its maybe a little low. Should I cut my losses and accept or not. What would you do.
Any advice would be much appreciated
thanks in advance0 -

Hi there
Well done.......
If that is an offer and they have not actually accepted liability then its not bad at all.
It is entirely up to you from now, as you will see Hollybear was given 2 offers, so if you want to ask them to make it to the original amount you posted, give it a go if you want to.
Otherwise it may be a good idea to accept.
Some have actually accepted as part refund then try for the rest later, there are some posts on here about this, have a search about, or at least wait for another opinion if you want to as well, good luck and well done.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Well done Teddybear,
The money they are offering is guaranteed, if you take it further there is always a chance you could lose or get less.
If you had the cash in your hand ask yourself if you would be prepared to gamble it for a few hundred quid.
It's your choice, congratulations on whatyou have achieved so far.:beer:It is a Camels temperament that has truly endeared the camel to man.Docile and sweet under a caring hand. But stubborn and angry if ill treated.the camel both wins your heart and your respect.0 -
Hi every one its me again. I decided to accept the offer and fax the acceptence form the same days as recieved on Saturday 12th September, I also sent the acceptance form by special delivery and have proof they recieved it. In the letter that came with the acceptance form it clearly stated that as soon as the recieve acceptance form they will have money transferred in to my bank account. It has been nearly 2 weeks and I have recievd no money. How long should I give them to pay out before taking things further and is there any thing I can do if they do not stick to there agreement and don't payout. You see I need the money more than ever now. I have had a really bad christmas. On the week before last my house was broken in too. All my childrens christmas presents were stolen along with a lot of other things. They also managed to find and steal my bank card and have cleared my account. Leaving me no money at the moment. Natwest say im covered but they have to do a full investigation and that it will be a while before they can refund my money. I have no money now and my children have gone through a chrismas with no presents. Its also been my oldest sons birthday and I could not give him any presents as they were stolen too and I have no money to replace them. My friends have all been really good and have helped how they could and have lent us money for food. My dad has sent me a cheque but I can't cash it as im snowed in and can't get out & my husbands family have sent money cover but its a cheque in euros. Which will take ages to cash and again I can't get out to bank due to the snow. My husband works in the village and has asked for a pay advance but they say the soonest they can give us his pay in 4th January. So you see I really need this money now. To pay my bills, buy food and nappies. and to try and make it up too my children a bit. Is there any way or any thing I can do to get natwest to pay out quickly. I phoned them many times last week and explained my situation and they kept saying they would payout and that I would defernatly have money by the day before christmas eve, but I have recieved nothing. I have also sent many faxes.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
I hope you are all having a nice christmas and have a happy new year0
