Hi,

I wonder if any one can help me. My husband took out a loan at natwest for £15000 in september 2004 at the time when he took the loan they did not explain any thing about the loan protection. They never even gave any information about it. They just added it to the loan. They did not even tell us it was optional. Also with in a year of taking the loan my husband was planning on going self employed. He never told them this as they never asked. We now see that self empoled is not covered under the payment protection. Do we have a case would we be able to claim back ppi on this loan. has any one had any sucess with natwest and claiming back PPI. Also I have the template letter for claiming Back PPI and have wriitten out a letter. I Know the basic details about the loan, I have two piece of papper which are exactly the same which shows the loan amount, the amout for loan protection and the interest rate. And it has the bank details and my husbands details and mine printed but no signitures. These are the only pieces of paper work they gave my husband when he took out the loan. Is this enough info to make a claim or does my husband need to request more details befor making a claim. Also for natwest where should my husband send the letter to claim back PPI. Should he send it to branch where he took out loand or to natwest head office. If any one has the address that would be great. One other thing I don't know if this is the right place to put this but. When my husband took out the loan he went on his own to bank and took it in his name only. I was suppried earlier this week when for the first time in 5 years we recieved a statement for the loan and it was in both names. I have checked the only paper work that they gave my husband when he took the loan and my name is printed on that. But I never agreed any thing to do with this loan and never signed any paper work to do with this loan can they go and put your name on a loan and make you responisble for it if you never agreed or signed any thing. We have a joint current account with natwest and I can only assume they got my details from that.

any advice would be much appreciated

thanks in advance

    Hi there.;)

I think this is a good case here, with what you have posted so go for it.

There are many on here who have dealings with these and I'm sure someone who have been going through a complaint with them will post up with some useful info for you as well.

Also when you get the chance, check through the threads.

For more information with guidelines of reclaiming, here is a link below to help you through this, but if you require further help, please just ask, good luck.

When we have all the information available and the investigation is complete, we will contact you with our full response.

We Understand that you may wish to discuss matters in relation to your complaint during the course of the investigation. The case officer handling your complaint is Ben Ryan, who will be happy to deal with any questions that you may have

What does this letter mean what should I do know. Are they investigating should I just wait. What do they mean by we do not hold the origonal letter of authority signed by you. The letter I send to them to complain was origonal and my husband did sign it. They actually returned the letter we sent to them that is signed with this letter and it was stamped showing they had recieved it. Do i need to send them some thing else.

Any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance

    Hi there

They have not actually made it clear to you as such if they are actually going to continue to investigate, apart from the part where they have stated where this will not affect their investigations in any way.

I would personally ring them and ask them what exactly are they doing, ask if they are investigating this or not, or did they require further information from you first in order to do so?

And yet they do state that they will contact you when the investigations are complete!

A bit mis leading to read, as if they are saying they are investigating, but require some info sort of thing.

It is up to you, maybe contact the guy Ben and see what he has to say about this, just to be on the safe side.;)

Good luck, let us know if you can. Cheers.

As I have commented on my previous thread, my initial Natwest contact address was
    Natwest
    37 Broadstreet
    Bristol
    BS997BR
I sent recorded delivery, they lost ot so as Di says it is imperative that you keep receipt from Post Office.

The actual people I am dealing with now (maybe it is an area thing) is
    RBS Customer Concerns Team
    Regulatory Risk
    5th Floor
    1 Hardman Boulevard
    Manchester
    M3 3AQ

Dont forget, you will get mail from other Natwest people from other address's it gets difficult to focus on who and what you are dealing with

Another address I have dealt with is
    Customer Relations
    Natwest
    Freepost
    NAT12685
    London
    WD6 1BR

If you have to deal with London , good luck, they really are not nice people!

Reading this I think I may have muddied the water for you but wherever you send mail KEEP RECEIPTS OF RECORDED MAIL

For me it has been impossible to get in touch with Ben Ryan, he is apparently the manager, I received an almost identical letter except they saying they could not accept my signature
