Nationwide to remove support for Microsoft money

Many thanks to RPB424 for the script. When I saw the ofx option on the new website I had thought that finally Nationwide had sorted things out. I should have known they would balls it up and leave it for one of their customers with obviously far more brains than they can manage between them to sort it out.
Yes, when I saw the OFX option I was pleased too and thought mt2ofx was redundant - until the OFX didn't work. Hence script hacking was required for a second time after the debacle a couple of years ago.0 -
Thank you - that was quick!
File downloaded, and 8 xs replaced with my account number and file saved. File now located in the MT2OFX programme folder.
I opened MT2OFX, went to options, scripts, new but there is no sign of the new file - Nationwide-CSV_multi_account.vbs.
I am using W7.

techno79,
Please could you open the OFX file that has been generated in Notepad or similar and check that the line starting <ACCTID> (around about line 33) has your account number after it. If it doesn't then Money complains that the file is no good. One of my modifications in replacing the 'xxxxxxxx' lines in the scripts should ensure that this number gets correctly entered.
I checked the file and <ACCTID> does appear on line 33 but it appears all by itself. The line after that says <ACCTTYPE>CHECKING.
I'm not sure which scripts I should have enabled but to avoid confusion, I removed all the previous Nationwide scripts and added all 3 of the ones you linked. I've put enabled just those 3 and put them in the order:
1. NationwideCC-CSV.vb
2. Nationwide-CSV_multi_account.vb
3. Nationwide-CSV_InvestDirect.vb
Please let me know if you need me to try anything else. Many thanks.0 -

When the file dialog box is open having hit 'New' are you sure you are looking in the right folder or is it defaulting to somewhere else? If the file really is in the mt2ofx program folder then I can't see why it wouldn't find it.0 -

OK, the script obviously isn't detecting the correct account name from the original downloaded (csv) file. Have you by chance renamed the account on the website and as such have an issue the same as described by woffle99 above?0 -

Yes, definitely in the correct folder. However..........if I click cancel I return to scripts which is now greyed out!
I think I will uninstall MT2OFX and try again.0 -

Hi thanks for your quick reply. I had missed woffle99's post so thanks for mentioning this. Yes, I had renamed my accounts as I two current accounts (own and joint).
Nationwide website is currently refusing to let me login at the moment so I'll have to try it later. However, just to confirm:- I need to edit the "Nationwide-CSV_multi_account.vbs" file as follows:
- At line 259, there are some IF statements. I need to copy each condition and change the name to the actual name I'm using in Nationwide (I have 2 current accounts, 2 e-savers accounts and an ISA) so I'll need 5 If statement lines.
- I also need to change the account numbers under each If Statement to the actual account number.

Spot on. The search for the name is case sensitive, so just use a bit of care when editing.0 -

Sorry, one thing I'm confused about is what I should edit the account numbers in the .vbs file? I had a look at the settings in my Nationwide accounts and they all have different account number formats.
Settings are as follows:
NW Current 1: [4 digit branch code][forward slash][6 followed by 8 digit account number]
NW Current 2: [6 digit sort code no spaces][space][8 digit account number]
NW E-save 1: [6 digit sort code no spaces][space][8 digit account number]
NW E-save 2: [6 digit sort code no spaces][space][8 digit account number]
NW ISA: The account number is actually the name of the ISA account.
I don't remember setting the account numbers in Money so no idea why they are not consistent. However, should the account number in the .vbs file match Money or should they be the actual account numbers.
If they should be the actual account number, what format should they be in?
Thanks again.0 -

I don't think it actually matters. You can put anything you like as long as it is not blank. The advantage of putting your number and then exactly the same within the account settings of Money itself is that Money should then import the data without asking you which account is applies too, which it would otherwise not necessarily know.
I have three accounts. Flexaccount and e-savings are both 8 digit numbers. ISA is 4 digits, then a slash, then 9 digits. The first 4 digits are the branch code of where the account was originally opened.0
