I'm feeling a bit stressed at the mo and not been sleeping well either. Anyone else having loads of dreams? We've had both sets of family over the Easter, and I seem to have been waiting on people hand and foot as well as changing beds, so am exhausted.

I seem to have lists all over the place - got the favours to box up and suits to pick up. Nothing major left to do its just the itty bitty stuff really. Oh, need to get some chicken fillets as have lost a bit of weight over the chest area mainly which is a bummer (see separate thread)
Need a full day with HTB to get my head round what's left to do.

Hope the weather is going to be nice!

    Phew!

    Hels :o

  • Just keep thinking about the good stuff, yesterday I felt like I was up to my neck in it - but thinking about it know I now there is not much left to organise. As you say it is the little bits and pieces that drive you crazy. I am starting to think 'what'll go wrong will go wrong'. At the end of the day as long as OH and me are happy that is all that matters - but I do want it to be perfect LOL

Took my dress to the dressmaker yesterday for "bustling". She couldn't believe it was an offshore gown - apparently it is very well made and she has seen a lot where brides have been in tears over their gowns. So I was happy to hear that!

Finally sorted my chair covers - I was umming and aahing over the cost, but I managed to get £200 knocked off the drinks package which covers the chairs (pun intended :D)

  • I have final dress fitting and hair trials today. Just realised I had forgot to invite 2 couples we know so need to get invites to them ASAP (oops).
On the positive site my gran has offered to pay up to £1000 for a new sofa for us as a wedding gift and my Mother In Law 2B has bought us a night in a castle (on top of all her other financial input).

Well its nearly 10 days to go and I'm sooo really excited. I haven't been to many Weddings so I just wanted to run through how I think things go?

We get married in church at 4
A few pic's and mingling outside the church till 5?
Arrival at the reception between 5.30 and 6
Photo's outside as only have photographer for a short time till about 6. - 6.30
Speeches, about 10 - 15 Mins because none of us like speaking.
The first Buffet but it feels a little late as we are having a second? Around 6.45 to 7?

Evening Guests arrive at 7.30 ish
First dance 7.45, then cutting of the cake?
Then 2nd buffet 9.30 or is that to late for evening guests?

Having written it down its looks like I'm a control freak but this is the first time I have actually put times on things just to give OH an idea as he keeps asking me about the 'schedule' lol

Any input would be much appreciated :-)
  • I think you cut cake before first dance but could be wrong.

    My plan is
1.30 - OH arrives at Abbey (venue)
    2.00 - I arrive/ceremony starts
    2.30 - Photographs
3.30/4.00 - Arrive at Cliffburn (Reception venue)
4.00 - Meet guests and drinks
    4.45 - Meal
    6pm - Speeches and drinks
    6.45 - Cut cake
    7.00 - Reception
    7.30 - First dance
    8.30 or 9pm - buffet
