so this is the whole of the UK?Royal Mail has announced that postal workers intend to go on strike within the following districts from Monday 14th September to Friday 18th September.
Monday 14th September
Cambridge
Slough
Ely
Norwich
Wigan
Tuesday 15th September
Middlesborough
Wednesday 16th September
London
Friday 18th September
Ayr
Kilmarnock
Kilwinning
Irvine
Buyers and sellers using Royal Mail services within these districts should be aware of potential delays in delivery of mail also this dispute includes Royal Mail drivers meaning cross-country mail services will be severely disrupted
Best advice for eBay sellers is to notify customers that there will likely be delays to their purchases arriving. Expect a minimum of two to three days delay for mail in these districts although it may well take until the following week for services to resume to normal
Sellers should check the Royal Mail website for further updates: http://www.royalmail.com/serviceupdate.

I have sent about a dozen things out this last week and everyone seems to have received everything ok so it doesn't seem to be to bad.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0

The only thing I am waiting for at present is a small item from Hong Kong, everything else is arriving as normal. An item sent to Aberdeen last week 2nd class arrived next day..and I think that is absolutely marvellous and I congratulate the PO to get an item that far and quicker than Ryanair could fly me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I imagine a lot of the 'delayed by RM strike' items are like your first item..just sent late by seller because they know that they can blame it on the strikes.
I was taking paper submssions for a project in London, several candidates phoned to say that there was a strike on in their area and could they have a time extension. We monitored the post marks and date stamps on envelopes realised we were being told porkie pies and closed submissions just with 24 hours grace. We had one person phone up to say it wasn't fair but after trying to see what we could do they finally admitted that actually they hadn't even bothered to send it because they thought we would allow an open ended submission because of the strike.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. :rotfl:Yes, and at least when you pay for postage you don't have to pay extra to actually use the Post Office counter, or an extra £5 to affix the stamp to the parcel. Maybe that's what they're striking against. The only thing I am waiting for at present is a small item from Hong Kong, everything else is arriving as normal. Still waiting on a package posted 31st August. The seller is refunding me but has to wait for funds to clear through Paypal before she can send a refund (I've had this problem before so don't mind waiting). It's so frustrating!0
