Not really had problems in Hants, except for mail coming from the North of the country. Anything southern (not going through London) has been arriving fine.

My window is quickly closing for 2 items that I bought on 30 August and still not rec'd. It's not the seller's fault and it's not my fault, so what do I do? I don't want to be out cash for items that I'm not receiving but then again the poor sellers would be out the value of the items because they're lost in postal oblivion. I've been quite happy to wait but seeing as we're going on 1 month now it's getting ridiculous...what's the best course of action here??

All you can really do is ask seller for a refund now and he can then reclaim his losses from RM. I can't see that you have nay other options.

very little traffic has gone through the MC over the last 2 nights
however i saw a load of packets delivered to the DO after deliveries today, so i would expect agency workers/managers to be in place to try and clear the backlog

Hi Custardy, any update on the situation in Edinburgh? I've got a couple of good sales on Amazon to post by tomorrow.... thanks

London is pretty badly affected. I have 3 items (all from USA) and bought at the start of September still to arrive and one domestic one which I've got refunded and the sender is going to claim for.
Ask for a refund on your items, and post them back if they do arrive. The seller can claim the costs back provided the appropriate service for their value was used.
One of the points of the strike action is to cost Royal Mail money; and by getting them to pay out compensation for far more parcels than they would normally lose will cost an awful lot of money. This coupled with loss of business accounts is what the unions hope will cause management to give into their demands.

The strikes are affecting post really badly, I am in London which is out on an unofficial strike today and yesterday, and there were the official national strikes last week.
Today I had a 'where's my item' email from a buyer (new ebayer) who paid yesterday!
