Nicki do you think he is hungry/windy when crying? or are you clueless to the cause?
I hope things get easier for you soon, How are you coping? have you managed to escape pnd this time? xxx

I think he is in pain to be honest. He does around 16 dirty nappies a day  so his bum gets really sore sometimes even when we use the prescription cream, leave him to air, etc and I think he is also a bit colicky as he brings a lot of wind up (and down :D) after each feed. He will settle when fed for about 15-20 mins then he's back screaming again. The hospital suggested a dummy, which we've tried with him (though I'm not a huge fan of them to be honest as I think they are more trouble than they are worth) but he hasn't really taken to it anyway.

I did get very tearful on the second day in hospital. I had to stay in with him on my own because I was breastfeeding and children weren't allowed on the ward (as visitors that is!) due to swine flu precautions, so OH couldn't be there very much. At this point all they were talking about was that they thought it might be CF and that it was very common in our area, and all his symptoms, especially the copious smelly poos fit. The doctor dropped this on me, then said she would come back to explain it more, and disappeared for 7 hours, not answering her bleep to come back. By the time she did manage to get back, I'd been in tears for about 5 continuous hours (as we know 2 families with CF kids so are well aware how awful a condition it is), so they arranged for me to see the duty psychiatrist who has put me back on meds as a precaution, but also referred me into the system so I should get some support from the local team specialising in mums post natally. I don't feel I am depressed at the moment though I am obviously very anxious about what the tests will throw up, so I do need to be careful to make sure that I don't slip into something more serious.

I know CF is scary and no fun at times but it most of the time doesn't prevent a full and happy life (my best friend's sister has it) and of course it may not be that.
Good that you are getting plenty help and preventative measures for pnd though :)

Hopefully the results won't take too long to come though and they'll provide an answer that results in a much happier Edward!
On the bright side at least he's getting his money's worth out of the newborn sized clothes ;) xxx

sorry LO is helping me type m- she's just woken up!
I don't have anything else to compare it with but it seems to work well. It made the carpets in the old house look lovely and in the new house it made the upstairs one good enough to keep (except for cigarette marks in Alice's room) and it improved the downstairs ones from "rip out and throw away even if it means having bare floors" to "tolerate until we can afford to replace".

We (well OH) did have to empty and refill multiple times to do each room (in the old house it was roughly 3 times per room but the new one was more because it was very dirty) but I think that's fairly common because if the capacity is really big then it makes it heavy.

omg i've now had 5 people knocking on the door asking for business today! 2 men from different companies wanting to buy my jewellery, someone selling windows, a decorator and a odd job man! and the leccy man came to read the meter! !!!!!!! i'm going to have to get one of those signs that tells people to booger off and not knocking!!
I put a sign up at our old house after Alice was born because we were averaging one very day. At first I just had "No door to door callers" which I thought was fairly clear but I changed it to "No door to door callers including Warmfront and charities" because they didn't think it applied to them AND they would start arguing with me about whether it applied to them. (I got things like, "But we're from the government", "But we can save you money", "I'm not selling anything" and "Don't you care about mistreated dogs".) It made a huge difference as it went down to maybe one or two a month.

Just skimmed but sorry to hear you had to go into hospital Nicki. Fingers crossed he gains some more weight :) Did they do anything about the placenta still in you?

Keira has been a mare today, I've been in tears, I really don't feel well, I feel dizzy and wobbly, and I was lifting the grill pan out the hot oven and stood up and everything went black and I fell over and dropped it all over the kitchen floor, so the cat got the bacon....lucky my mum was here and I didn't burn myself!

Doesn't help that Keira and Ellie have been bickering and all Keira has been doing is moaning whinging and crying about nothing. She's tired because she never fell asleep until after 12 and then I woke her up earlier to make sure she went to bed earlier.

Just sick of her attitude aswell, can these terrible 2's start at 3? She wasn't like this at 2. It's the backchat "NO!!" She gets put in the corner but it doesn't seem to sort her out, she just gets herself worked up into a coughing state and is liable to make herself sick.

I ended up shouting at her and putting her into her bedroom and even then she was still being a nightmare, screaming and shouting. She has calmed down now but I told her if she starts again she is going right back.

For some reason Ellie antagonises her, she gives ellie cheek like calls her a poopy head but if ellie says it back Keira goes "MURRRGH MEEEEH MOOOAN"

Can't wait till OH gets back so I can go lie down, feel so weak.

susan, i've ordered a waterproof sticker off ebay that says "no callers or junk mail!" i could probably have made one but for the hassle of doing that compared with the £2.50 i paid for a sticker i dont really mind! we also get so much junk mail and leaflets that it would probably rival the size of the yellow pages each week! we dont even look at it, it comes out the letterbox and goes straight into the recycle bin. what a waste!
i think its cos we live in the town centre and the local shops and businesses just leaflet whats close to them  there are at least 10 local takeaway places and we have a leaflet for each one at least once a fortnight, i never used to get so much when i lived round the corner!
