I loved this too MFD
recommendations ladies/men,and i know i have asked it before, but the time has certainly come .... cots and mattresses ..... i dont want to get a cheap mattress for the sake of it becuase i am wondering if LO would sleep better with a good mattress. i have been looking at kiddicare/mothercare/argos/ikea ...
We bought a cot with a dropside cot and didn't bother with a cotbed as we know we want LO to go into a bed sooner rather than later IYKWIM. We bought the Anna cot and matress from John Lewis. I can highly recommend them both.
trip home looks to be january so hubby can come (causing many many arguments) ... but then that depends on me changing my return to work day (and going to cost us a whole lot more in flights and no wages for me == unless i go back for a bit and then take time off)
x
remember that your trip home is a golfball, not sand
With non-mummy friends, I just tend to nod, smile and gloss over everything we have to do, then if I (absent-mindedly) mention medication, their eyes pop out their heads.. I just say "appointments", not exactly how many we have nor how many needles they waft at him
Never talk about how hard the expressing is (or rather the finding the motivation and time for it) or the guilt and stress and all that jazz... Save that for you lovely lot!
scruffy, blood test tomorrow morning but that's becoming routine now so hardly worth mentioning
No other apps apart from jab at home on Thursday, I think
It's hard isn't it? I have made one really great mummy friend in RL that I can really talk to, otherwise it's you ladies (and Bruno!) who hear my worries.SeptemberBaby wrote: »:rotfl:

I received £10 worth of points for a 50p spend last week (and did it twice!).

And how did you do that supermum

Just a flying visit as I'm going shopping! Hope everyone is well and Caz, tell DH he had us really worried and is very naughty!!
David Gray's music brings back huge emotions from when I had Poppy, particularly 'You're the world to me' and 'The one I love'. It takes me back to rocking her in my glider and thinking I was so lucky to be a Mummy.
With Jamie it was Elton John's 'Your Song'!
MFD, Del Amitri has just brought back lots of very happy memories of me and my very bestest friend! Think I'm going to email her now...
Hugs for poorly babies and parents xxx
Catch up later.

I noticed one of Keira's front teeth overlaps the other, It must of been there a while but never saw it as you can see it from the side but not straight on if you get what I mean? I'm OCD'in about this now!!
I noticed that the top of her front teeth look a diffo colour, I think it's maybe like clear gum? She was just at the dentist about 2months ago so I doubt it's an issue at all.
I wish I was normal and didn't freak out about silly stupid things like this. I mean it's MILK TEETH, I know that, doesn't matter if they aren't PERFECT, the chances are that she will need braces when she is older is likely as me and her dad both needed.

It really bugs me when I introduce him as Benjamin and people say 'Hello Ben'
I often get asked if Annabel will be know as Belle? If she wants to shorten it when she's older then it's up to her, but I can't see us doing it. If we did it would probably be Anna rather than Belle.
I'm always saying there won't be anymore babies (at least for a long time!) but I did think the other day that it's a difficult name to put something else with, but that Ava would be a nice choice
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hmmm... woke up to crying baby at 4.20, he had nasty diarrhea nappy so I changed him, was a major fight to keep him lying on his back and out of the diarrhea, so he sobbed quite a bit. At the end, given worries about dehydration and his being so awake now, I took him into bed to BF with OH.
After about 10 mins I was dozing off, as was OH - when Elijah threw up all over the bed and OH. She completely freaked out and started crying, I sprung up and took wailing baby to be cleansed of vomit, when we were both done scrubbing I asked her to take the baby while I changed the bed and she refused and said she didn't want to be near him. She is always totally out of it at this time of night...
In the end I persuaded her to take him, went and changed the bed (luckily we have a mattress-topper I could strip), came back and rescued him where he was now staggering round the floor of the nursery crying while she watched him... shouted at her, told her to go back to bed, got the stuff in the laundry, spent 20 minutes trying to get him to settle but he was completely awake by this point...
OH came back and said sorry and she was awake now and she should swap with me as it's a work night, but really she needs her sleep more than me and I was fully fully awake and etc
So I've been sitting up with sickly grumpus-boy ever since. My only consolation is that I was better than today's Countdown contestants even at 5.30am
hugs. LO's teething too and seems to have turned into a full blown bug like E. We are on outfit number 4 today and it's only lunchtime. Any milk comes straight back up again all curdled and I know the Drs can't give her anything so feeding her sips of diluted apple juice and pasta twirls without any sauce to fill her up/settle her stomach. FIngers crossed they'll both be better by tomorrow. Thanks all - spoke to NHS Direct, and they actually recommended not to go to doctor unless he starts showing signs of dehydration (lack of pee, lethargy/confusion, sunken/sallow skin tone...) which so far he isn't. They said to try to give him "lots and little" food and drink, and if he can keep that down then keep going. Obviously if he won't keep anything down, then we will get really worried and go to doctor this afternoon... for now I am at work with fingers crossed, I can leave later if I need to.

Oh, r.mac just saw your post!
It involves the £5 No7/Ruby & Millie voucher, a 750 points coupon from the instore machine, a 250 points coupon from their instore magazine and finding two old style R&M lipsticks reduced to £2.75 each!:D
Did that make any sense?! :rotfl:

songs in pg/birth etc -
following on from the love in last night and being totally honest, I've really just tried to block it all out. My mum made a comment about us not really hvaing realised how ill LO was when she was born and I'm sorry to say it set me off on a long cry.....do you know that no-one thought to tell us that she wasn't going to die? I still get jealous when I see peoples pictures of minutes/hours old babies:o I know I didn't have it nearly as bad as a couple of you and luckily we've had no long term effects on LO, but I still cry when I think about it.
But.....I still want to hear what songs you guys liked

Is it normal for a baby to be asleep then wake up screaming, then after about 10 seconds and some cheek stroking and shushing, go back to sleep? Then the same happen 5mins later and keep happening?
LO does this when she's teething badly. we've found shushing in teh cot and helping her re-settle is better than picking her up as it is a bit disorientating for her as she's not awake IYKWIM.Welcome back Krystal - we missed you.
Yes - we missed you x
My baby girl has got a big lump at her bottom front gum - at last! I don't think its broken through yet - but its not far off, I can see the sharp white edges. :T Right now, shes chewing on the end of a lolly ice (ice pole, ice lolly - whatever your preference) in the food sock thingy.
yeah for V

SB, yes it made sense (I used to be a bootser
) but we never get reduced bargains on make-up in my local Boots ;(
Might have to go peruse the bargains to up those points to use them for Chistmas pressies - thanks sweetie x
PS. been meaning to ask about Poppy. I know she's graduated from Mama to Mummy, what else has she been learning recently? I think she's just gorgeous.
