i forgot to say... before seth went to bed he grinned a toothy grin at me, it was so cute

i never thought i'd say this... but i think i'm getting broody again :eek::eek::eek::eek:

i miss my "baby" baby boy, the one i had before he got too wriggly to cuddle properly!

I know how you feel! Benjamin has never been a very cuddly baby (other than with MIL) but these days I don't get anything. I am hoping that it will change as he gets older and understands what it is like to show love!!

I can't believe how quickly the last 7 months have gone!!

Ooo - we have got a place at Swimming Lessons :T:T it's only an 8 week course but I am very excited!!

Sounds nasty :( Does the poorliness mean he is or isn't sleeping too? *hugs* all round :grouphug:

Sadly it is meaning less sleep - he's clearly in some serious discomfort from his rear end, and also most of the time when he does wake he then poops, which necessitates changing and full wakefulness and upsetness :(

Exactly the same as OH (and me :p maybe) - the newborn phase vanishes so fast!

Bruno - you'll have done/know all this but LO has had nappy rash just the once when she had a tummy bug and it was red raw :( We spent a lot of time with towels on the floor letting her go nappy-less (although would be harder now she's mobile so no idea how that would work with E! Also I changed her nappy ALL the time and didn't use wipes, but went back to cotton wool and tepid water. We were going through about 15 nappies a day, but it definately helped.

Em - are you mad?! But I do understand. Our babies are turning into toddlers before our very eyes (but I'm soooo looking forward to having a LO that says funny things like Charlotte and Alice do :D )

I hope tigs and Andrew are alright and that she's just very busy and not upset or anything like that :( Anyone else find themselves worrying about people they've never met before??? :rotfl:

Thanks for worrying (and Elle too) - my silence is a combination of emotional trauma and laptop problems! I've had to resort to Marley's PC to write this - power supply failure on the lappy, hopefully a new adapter will arrive tomorrow and I can get back online to you all again.

The MRI scan eventually went okay. Andrew was starved following his 1pm feed, and given oral sedation at 5pm; but when we got there, the radiographer wasn't ready for him. Cue a half-hour wait, Andrew starts stirring as he's hungry (at last!). Cue another half-hour of mucking around trying to get the SaO2 monitor to fit him. At this point the radiographer wasn't happy as Andrew was wriggling, so she let us feed him and settle him again. Then she couldn't get the scanner to work properly! He did eventually get the scan, but a 15-min experience turned into two hours. I stayed in the room with him, as did the nurse, and it was flippin' loud even through ear defenders - goodness alone knows what it was like for Andrew, but he slept throughout :A

Returned to the ward - oh yes, forgot to say, Andrew was promoted to the Nursery yesterday morning :j:j:j - and one of the nurses starts talking about his transfer to another hospital. You what??????????? Sister couldn't find out more or confirm/deny it, so I came home at the end of the evening in a very bad state of worry. Moving him (just to free a bed) did not make sense to us, he was in his local hospital already (ie. he didn't start out at a different one) and we felt continuity of his care (re the cranial bleed) was very important. When we visited today, we were ready for a fight, and told them that we wouldn't give our consent. A couple of hours later, the day Sister took us aside, apologised profusely for the previous night's debacle, and confirmed that he wouldn't be moved. Victory. And I'm sure that mentioning the ongoing filming for the BBC documentary (that Andrew's starring in) had nothing to do with the decision ....

So that's the last couple of days for you all! Not sure when I'll get on here again, but love to you all and kisses to your babies ;)

ETA - I needn't have written all that, stalker Tia has already updated you :rotfl:

E was always ok with cuddles but in the last 3 months or so he has definitely learned that cuddling can be for affection and emotional comfort etc. It's a good phase :D

tigs - sorry it was so stressful. I'm glad that Andrew isn't being moved. That sounds best for you and him. He sounds like he's doing well though, which is great.

MFD - yeah for swimming lessons :D
