  • DH bullied me into wandering to the supermarket (it is only next door - only a few mins walk) to get some fresh air and some fresh bits for Izzy. I think this infection has got into my inner ear. I now feel like I don't know which way is up. I managed to walk there and back without falling over. I did drop the eggs though, so now we only have 5. I think maybe I shouldhave stayed at home!

And yay for pink bumps :) That calls for a celebratory glass of lemonade :)

I'm going to give fudge a try :D (posting the recipe because I'm on the pc upstairs and don't have a pen to copy it down:o)

    900g (2lb) Sugar
    225g (8oz) Unsalted Butter
    1 large tin Evaporated Milk
Water (quarter of the volume of Evaporated Milk)
    Vanilla Essence

Place the sugar, butter, milk, water and vanilla essence into a saucepan.
Heat gently until the is fully dissolved.
Rapidly boil the mixture to a temperature of 114 - 118°C (238 - 245°F) the soft ball stage.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool for 2 - 3 minutes, then beat rapidly with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens and becomes rough in texture.
Pour the mixture into a 20cm (8 inch) baking tin, lined with silicon paper.
Allow to cool a little before marking into squares with a knife.
Leave in a cool place to set, cut into squares and store in an airtight container.

I'm more scared as I haven't got a clue who is it, I didn't when it happened back then. I never fell out with anyone and as I was a working single mum I never had time for proper friends in the village. As for OH, I waiting for the 'well if you'd had just had a normal up-bringing and normal relationships', he says I'm damaged emotionally!
Too many children, too little time!!!

    Whats normal?

Do you/Did you have suspicions? Its obviously some strange/jealous/deranged lonely person!

ladybird - If I lived next door to a supermarket i'd have to be locked in my house every morning - or i'd keep finding things to pop next door for!

My DD has decided she doesn't need daytime sleeps today, so the house is an absolute tip!
She'd best sleep tonight because I'm planning on going to bed with her at sevenish, as i've got to go to pick my sister and her b/f from Manchester airport at half midnight.
I'm undecided if having a few hours sleep, going to the airport then having a few hours more will make me feel better or worse than just staying up?

Congratulations to you and your DD, Tara. I hope you've saved all of Erin's bits and pieces! Also ((Hugs)) to you. Some people are so small minded. We lived in a village for a while and even after 3 years we were considered outsiders because we hadnt been born and bred there. They obviously have nothing better to do in their sad pathetic little life.

SM - What was this successful culinary masterpiece, do tell!

Tara Yay for a grandaughter, As for the scumbags, well if they've nothing else to fill their lives than being jealous of yours then thats pretty sad, as someone said earlier pity them, your life is no ones business but your own.

I quite fancy a slow cooker myself but OH would go mad/sarcastic, cos his mum bought us one ages ago and we never used it and then we 'lost' it when we moved house.

I've had to ring OH and ask him to come home earlier than his usual after 7 when the kids are in bed cos I've got some sort of lurgy, Eloise has been awful all week and refused point blank to eat anything yesterday and has screamed all day today. I got up with a sore throat which has been steadily getting worse all day and now I ache all over and keep feeling faint, just want to go to bed and hope I can sleep it off whatever it is.

Save some lemon drizzle cake for me please, i don't fancy it today but I'm fairly sure I won't have any bother getting my appetite back, mores the pity.

  • Evening all :D

Thought I'd better pop in and let you know how we're doing considering I've been AWOL since having Evie.

Unfortunately, we've not had the easiest couple of months. Don't know if some of you remember that FIL went into hospital just before I had her and as far as we were concerned all was OK. Tragically he passed away when she was 6 weeks old so DH & I have had a pretty rough time of it.

Also still have an open wound from the c-section but we've gone down to seeing the nurse every day to now only 3 times a week

Then to top it all off DH got told he was being made redundant yesterday, so all in all we've had better 3 months.

Anyway, Evie, DH and I are all hanging in there so I suppose that's all that matters.

So what have I missed? I see Glam you've had a little boy - HUGE congrats.

Anyway, enough of me I can't wait to get back chatting to you all (is it sad that I've missed you? :o)
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
