Well the doctors was good & bad I guess.

Plastic Surgeon isn't even considering me until I get my BMI to 27 or lower.

The letter says something like blahblahblah patient will be considered for abdominoplasty if had MASSIVE WEIGHT LOSS (I think 5 1/2 stone is massive!) bmi of 27 and lower OR getting severe problems under the skin fold.

I have a consistent fungal infection underneath it, It flipping stinks! Literally!

My overhand probably isn't as bad as some peoples but it's affecting me massively, I asked her what the NHS stance was on it effecting people mentally and she said they kinda dismiss it as most people with an overhang ARE emotionally distressed. I didn't really get to elaborate on all the things that I feel affect me because of it, mainly cause I just sat and cried for about 10minutes.

Anyways, she is going to refer me again when my BMI is 27, she said she could do it now again with the stinky skin fold as the reason but I told her just to wait until I get my weight lower and then hit them with the triple whammy. Once I fit the criteria I have to see a psychologist, so I'll get to tell whoever that is about the problems I have with myself because of my collapsed body.

I also got Orlistat again....Not sure I'm even allowed that again really cause my BMI is just below 30, but hey ho, anything to get me further down on the weight thing. The quicker I stop faffing around and focus on loosing the weight, the quicker this vagina tickler will be removed.

I had also asked about a boob lift as I have a lot of loose skin there but she said that's probably even more unlikely, if I have too, I'll save up for that over a few years as that's easily concealed with a good bra, the overhang is visible through my jeans, sags in my pants, freaks me out.

Also I have a fibroid lipoma thingy in my wrist and one in my shin, i'm sprouting them now! I thought the one in my back was a one off. CLEARLY NOT!

No, I know :) At least I will be considered once I get too 71kg....

I actually have to start exercising aswell, my arms need toned up, as do my thighs and anything towards my gut can only help but sit ups hurt me.

I can't go running :( I tried once when OH was doing his marathon training and my overhang bounced out my knickers and tracksuit bottoms and flopped over the top. I've never done it again since.

    Hi BM
I thought it might have been that reason why they called you back. Plastic surgeons have very strict guidelines as there are so many people who want surgery - when I got referred my GP hadn't put all the info in the referral letter so I got them to go thru the criteria and write the letter around that.

Sending you 'hit a BMI of 27 FAST' vibes - if it's already below 30 then you don't have much to go :)

Thanks Glam, I'm feeling more positive about it, and I know once I drink about 4litres of water a day again I'll loose a few lbs straight off in water weight, cheating but hey ho :p

Can I ask how tall are you? and how much do you weigh in stones and pounds as i'm rubbish as working it out in kg's :o

I do a load of walking, seems to have been helping me loose some weight. My hubby needs to loose a good amount of weight, he's doing WW and so far so good. He struggles with exercise because of work etc so he is concentrating on what hes eating to begin with.

I'm 5ft 4" (small!) and I weighed 12st 2lbs this morning, so my bmi is about 29.7 or something. So I haven't got an obscene amount of weight to have a healthy bmi - 10st 7lb, but I only have to get too 11stone to be referred.

Last year I weighed 17stone 1/2 stone, so I've lost a fair bit, but during the process of loosing weight my body looks like it's been popped and deflated, I kinda went off the diet about 2month ago because I was so scared that I'd look even worse, but with the prospect of my belly being sorted, I think I have to just suck it up and loose the remaining weight. Really must do my arm weights though, I have minging flabby saggy bingo wings and I dread what they would look like with no toning at all when the next stone goes

12.5lb down, 117lb to go! The best consider that a mega weightloss and give me surgery! Best start saving I suppose. Any idea how much it would cost privately for a full body tuck?
