The guy doing it is very nice. They could use an instrument thing to hold babies eyes open (*shudder*) but this guy does it really gently with his fingers so it doesn't hurt them as much.

The mum of Rhys' room-mate who we've kept in touch with is actually a theatre nurse for this guy when he does eye surgery. She's seen him at work, so if she trusts him, I will :)

MDW I think they were all covered at mine too. I forgot about the ball - Chris lobbed it at the pc, oops!
The nurse particularly liked that he was convinced he could hop and then bounced around the room like a rabbit saying "hop hop hop" :p
They might not ask her to do ome of the things if they've just asked it on the questionaire..

  • morning guys anyone else up yet, i've been awake since 5am, the wind was blowing the bathroom blind very noisly, so i got up to close it and couldn't go back to sleep. keep thinking of all the things i need to do and other worries in my head, so thought i would come online to distract myself.

    major concerns are

    1. money, OH started a new job in feb and took a pay cut too, he gets more family time, which is why he took it but financially things are tight, not impossible but tight. elec and gas keep going up, previous years we'd be over £100 in credit, this autumn its £3, so we aren't going to get to xmas on that. yes i am already on the best tarriff and being careful with things. am trying to sell some of the kids stuff we have outgrown.

    2. pnd, still not great, each week seems to be slipping closer to black hole, can't tell DH as he worries about it already.

    3. extension - we've got the winter to prepare and organise it from planning application to drawings etc, i've been waiting so long for this and it seems possible now that by next summer we can start. my aim is to avoid dipping into the extension fund to live, otherwise we'll never be able to get it. we don't want to add to mortgage . DH always seems so busy with other stuff it keeps taking a back seat, i can only do so much, he's the auto cad person, i've no idea.

Sorry just thought i'd put it in black and white and see if it helps.

Buttons, hope your ok this morning, sometimes things seem worse in the evening. i'd strongly think about your position with this man, if your that unhappy and its not a whim, then formulate a plan and leave. if you want a job why not start looking to see what's about, you don't need to apply for anything just yet, but would give you an idea of what's out there. sounds like you need your confidence building. I can understand when you say addictive and destructive personality, i think i have similar tendancies but in order to get help you need to help yourself. do you belong to any ED forums? talking to people with similar problems might help. I had anorexia for nearly 16yrs and bulimia for 11yrs. i really wanted children so that drove me to stop and get better. but its hard, even now i have days where i struggle to stay on the straight and narrow. my children and husband are strong incentives and even when i do have a blip they are rare and few between now. i belonged to a ed forum for many many years and they are so understanding and i made some good friends. pm me if you want the details.

can't believe its 7am and still darkish out there, think the rain clouds aren't helping.

oohhh just heard hubbie getting up, will put the kettle on for him

    have good day all

My moan tonight is summed up in my other thread - my bl00dy pram chassis won;t fit in my car and it seems that NO chassis will fit my boot even though I have a Fabia hatchback and not a particularly tiny boot!

Have to go to my mums for five days on Sat and no idea how to get everything up to her - can;t go without it cos Lilia will go crazy not being able to go out and about (as will I) but the only place it fits is the back seat and then I can;t sit next to her which I need to do cos she hates the car and it's a 2-hour journey!

Why why why are pram chassis (what is the plural??) so big??

    errm 4 costly options
    new pram
    roof rack/box
    trailer
    send via courier

    :confused::D

eta actually FIVE new car :p

one slightly more :money: option is to hire a pram - £20 a week from a company who drop it off and pick it up from your holiday destination. Might be cheaper for less time :). The prams are all good makes like maclaren. Elle found the link, but I'll have another hunt for it now...

ah, just finished reading and realised Elle has a busy day today, I shall do lots of hunting for that linkie myself.

All the best for today Elle. :)

Can I start with an apology for not being a very prompt friend to you all. Things about work and money and the pregnancy have been contributing to me not feeling like I'm coping so well.

I realise this has made me not take action on sending the 10 fairy cubes or getting back to you, sami, very quickly.

I'm sorry if I have disappointed anyone. The good news is that I have enough jiffy bags now and my mum is coming today, and I'm sure after a nap and a bit of help I'll be able to tackle things. :)

But first I need to psyche myself up to phone the new manager. I know she's the one with all the power, but she's got off to a really bad start with me! Her email was high-handed, inattentive and hadn't read mine properly. She also doesn't have her facts straight. All of this frustrates me when someone is paid £40k a year to be in a senior role.

It seems now like I need to ring her and tell her about the pregnancy for her to treat anything I say is an urgent task as an urgent task!

    I'll go now!

Have a lovely day all. :D

    Weezl xx
