MFD Good luck with the childminders, was it your mum who also used to childmind? Mine did too, its nice to know what to look for when your looking :)

    Yay for crawling babies!!
Yep - my mum was a CM...but in some ways it makes it worse because I just want someone like my mum to look after him (complete with a daughter like me :D)

does anyone have that government childcare link where you can choose nurserys, childminders etc and search for the ones in your area? i thought it was www.childcarelink.gov.uk but it shows the orange directgov website instead
meant to be ringing round today

As I understand it there was too much information being given out on childcarelink so they have had to remove it. Best thing to do is to call your local council and ask for a list.

You couldn't get phone numbers off the link above anyway.

Edit - you could look at childcare.co.uk but it is not an official site - CM's put their own profiles on there.

 The cat's had a swelling where his eye used to be for a couple of days. We can't get through to the vet clinic, and he didn't seem to be in pain.

It exploded and leaked pus _pale_

He still doesn't seem to be in any pain, and now the clinic is closed. Poor little scrap.

Also food related - i remembered something else.
While we were in Ireland staying with relatives (who don't have children), they were amazed at how well my children eat - and heres me thinking they're just normal! :o
When we first got there, they were very worried, telling me they'd go shopping if I give them a list of what the children will eat. I said not to worry, they'll eat whatever we're having - and they did. They were also amazed at how they snack on fruit during they day - choosing fruit over biscuits.
Everyone is amazed at ALice ating loads of fruit too.
What do you do/plan to do re. babies getting christmas presents for Daddy? I normally get DH lots of littleish things (maybe a book, a dvd or two and some chocolate) rather than one big present, so I was thinking I'll just get the same amount of stuff as normal, and label one thing as being from Izzy rather than me. I was interested in what the rest of you will be doing though :)
We just get something very small (like about £2). Alice usually gets Daddy a small packet of pistachios.

Right Dylan has been given 6 tins of Enfamil AR and has to stay on it for a week to see how he goes. Have just made up the first bottle of it and I have to say I dont like the look of it, or the smell !! Its really thick and smells like off milk :( I think I may feel sick giving it too him, but we will see when he wakes up in about 10 mins to get it !!

Henry is pretty good with fruit as well, at home its bananas, grapes, apples and raisens but when he is at nursery its melon, pineaple, oranges, carrot sticks and cucumber sticks as well.

PLus he would rather eat a bread stick or melba toast than a packet of crisps..
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.
