Hmmm. I nearly used Pickfords when I moved 6 months ago, but...
They were initially my most expensive quote out of 5 firms and when I told them this (they kept ringing me at work to see if I'd made my mind up) they said they were VERY keen to get my business and would come in lower than ANY of my other quotes in order to secure it.
I felt that if they were willing to do the job at a loss to themselves I couldn't be sure that they wouldn't cut corners on the day and I wasn't prepared to take the risk.
I eventually went with a local firm who were mid-priced and absolutely fantastic. They turned up at 8.30am, loaded the contents of my 4 bed house into 2 vans, drove 30 miles to my new house, unloaded it all and they were gone by 3pm.
I did my own packing though as I am a control freak and wouldn't trust anyone else to do it properly.
August £10 a day challenge- £27/£3100 -
