  • I had to read that twice to check if you were blaming the forums for this.

You ask for Free advise and get shirty because it didn't fit in with what happened. Unbeivable. It's FREE advice based on other peoples experiences not paid for expert advice.

YOU chose to take the advice what was given it wasn't forced upon you.

Maybe if some of you hadn't said "Calm down, they are the experts" I would have had the confidence to phone the company again and demanded they send a bigger second van and the promised extra crew... that'll teach me!

Well next time think for yourself love. Its a big world out there and i think you're going to struggle based on the stress you've had from a packing service :rotfl:

Cant wait to see you do it for yourself. You think having someone to do it for you is stressful! :T:A:rotfl:

TBH I find the idea of a packing service lazy as hell, but I guess I'm in the minority.

I think it makes sense to let "experts"do it. Getting builders in could be considered lazy but plenty of people do it. Some things are more important than money and I'd rather spend my time with my children rather than packing the belongings of 6 people. I can understand how finding you don't have enough time to leave the home spick and span would be stressful. There will always be areas that are difficult to access and clean but which become very obvious when furniture and appliances are moved. At least the OP was leaving it clean.

I hope you settle in well dirtmother.
  • We're moving soon and I'd LOVE to get a packing service, but I can't justify it! Also I don't like the idea of strangers going through my stuff lol. BF has decided that we're getting a cleaning crew who specialise in end-of-tenancy cleaning, though I don't know why we're bothering, when we moved in I moved some of the furniture and found whole wotsits and quavers under the coffee table and what seemed like a year's worth of crumbs and dust...
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

When we have moved which has been several times, we never have a removal service, we just annoy speak nicely to our friends and family and utilise their vehicles.

Stressful was having to move to here, youngest was 5 weeks old and breastfed on demand (and boy was he demanding), middle one was just over a year old and eldest was 4.....and then hubby being diabetic and overdoing things, collapsed with a hypo halfway through!

I didn't know what to do first, unlatch the baby, see to the hubby, grab hold of the just toddling 1 year old, run after the 4 year old who had taken an interest in the local bins or catch the warbrobe about to fall out of the back of our friends van! :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

This thread bewildered me! Its half 5 and I can't sleep, moving next week and hubby strained his ankle and accidentally kicked a washing machine etc, so was looking through the threads while he's quiet, asleep and not moaning ;)

Could you tell me exactly what will happen with my move so that I can blame you all if something doesn't go as you tell me it will?
Forever I will sail towards the horizon with you

In the same way that I find those who don't, stupid and tight ;)
