I think you need to look at how DLA is awarded, you obviously have an erroneous belief that it is based on diagnosis and not on care and/or mobility needs.

For SOME people it means how well you can act at a medical :rotfl:and your extra expenses are a motorhome, or cans of beer and fags while sitting on your backside in the garden allday.

I am not going to contribute any more to this thread.

I have said repeatedly I am not jealous of my neighbour. I have not said he is not entitled to what he has. All I wanted to know about was the tax disc.

So thanks all for your contributions, even those casting unwarranted aspersions on my motives.

To the person querying our income, yes that is our total income (husband's pensions) as a couple. We took early retirement and went to live in rural Spain for five years. We have two homes, but not much income. We can manage on this money and it was our choice to do so. I will get my State Pension (which is NOT means-tested) in January. So I am not 'jealous' of my neighbour.

As to the person who says I know nothoing about Pensions and Benefits, would they then like to explain why I spend most of my MSE time on the Benefits Board (and also some on the Pensions board) giving people advice on Benefits? No-one has complained yet about my advice and many people have personally thanked me.

Thanks all once again for the discussion and I hope I have cleared up some misunderstandings.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
