omg I have just got home from my night shift am knackered, OH went away today too, so was feeling a bit bleugh until a second ago when I checked my cahoot loan and I have paid off a wopping £486!!!!!!! :j:T I am so happy to finally see that going down.
This month is super tight what with christmas and all, and unfortunately I will be in my OD but it is a very short term measure, I'll be out again in January, with a vow to never go in it again.
Well am going to sleep now as am sooo tired, but will post more later, just wanted to share my good loan paying news
.
Speak soon and i hope you are all fantabulous.

Yay!! Well done on the loan payment, that is brilliant news! It's a fantastic feeling when the actual paper statements start showing the amount reducing, well done you!
Hope you have a good sleep xLBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
well I'm awake again, feeling rather groggy but am laying on the sofa watching scrubs and drinking tea, I don't need to leave until 1630 so I have a little while, oooh come dine with me is on. Anyone watch kirstys homemade christmas? OH set the recorder to record it for me, so going to watch both of them whilst wrapping my pressies tomorrow, or friday depending how I hold up without sleep!!
Still trawling through the OS threads to get some ideas for my frugal, mse, meal planning, grocery challenge new year. Have ordered a really cheap flask to try making my own yoghurt as I go through it in the bucket load, which will hopefully save me some money in the long run, going to to try making bread again, using your lovely recipe this time Katy as OH is still not struck on the rolls I make!!!

Thinking about food shopping (oh my life is so exciting!!) and cant remember if I have asked this before but where does everyone shop? I usually shop in Tesco but wonder if Aldi is cheaper as we have one round the corner or morrisons? I try and get the deals at somerfield when they have the good ones... I wonder if the market would be cheaper for stuff..... hmmm might have to check it out..

Am just sending back my registration for my course at the OU, I'd forgotten about it for a little while until the paperwork came through, how exciting!!!!!
Right must leave for work shortly will post more tomorrow.

I think Tesco is expensive but love Aldi and Asda. Go online and shop, then you don't buy loads of carp either!
Well done on the loan payments and the OU stuff X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
well back from night shift, have only slept for a couple of hours and have been to my nans, am now cuddled up on the sofa with my blankie, feeling completely shattered but I need to get back into my sleep pattern so going back to bed now isn't an option. Not sure what to do really, any ideas?

Hmmmm..... been thinking....
Next year is going to be a tough one, what with paying for my OU and trying to pay off my loan by september and my car by the end of 2010, getting married and having babies it is going to be so tight!! So I am trying to think of quick and easy ways to cut costs.
Both myself and OH need to downgrade on shampoo and deodorant, toiletires in general actually, we've just got into the habit of always using top brands. Fortunately we have a little stock pile of these but still when the time comes that we need some more, I am going to try and down brand a bit if not a lot, and I'm going to set a new rule that things like that can come out of the household budget, which is accounted for and wont come out of my extra debt money, if that makes sense!!
Also cleaning products, OH buys them like they are going out of fashion, we have two cupboards full of them!!!!! I am going to use what we have then see how this star drops stuff works, the OS thread talk about it all the time and I want to give it a whirl, it's got to be better for the environment as well as my purse strings!
I'm going to try and bypass OH and turn everything off of standby too, I know this is only a small difference but he is obsessed with leaving all 3 tvs on standby
I must persevere with it and run around after him turning everything off. Which should help with the exercise as I have cancelled the gym too
! I am still in need of cutting food costs so with my healthy eating, I will try and eat less rather than filling myself up with "healthy options", as long as I eat a healthy balanced diet, rather than spending a fortune on lowfat this that and the other that should help.
I still need to be glam though as shoe gal is always telling me. I'm going to try a wilko hair dye and see how it turns out, it can't be that bad!! Also I'm going to grow my nails and stop wearing fake ones!!!! Such a waste of money!! Just stop biting how hard can it be?!
hmmmm what else.... am already on the case of down branding the food shopping, OH has already taken my lead and has bought malt wheats instead of shreddies, I was so proud
, this is the man that said they were one of the things he would never down brand on........ but I knew pushing him wasn't the answer
, I didn't even mention it again, but after he had tried everything else I had down branded, to no ill effects or difference in taste for that matter, he just took it upon himself and came home with them one day!!! :T yaaay!!! bless his little heart
Coffee and tea are the next ones, I'm not fussed what tea I drink but OH loves his nescafe gold blend, think I might try tesco equivilent and see how we go, might end up tipping it into the old jar though :shhh:. I don't actually think he'd notice as we have hundreds (I'd say maybe even thousands) of sweeteners in the cupboard (he used to like them in coffee but then went off them?!
) and have been putting them in his coffee for the past 6 months instead of sugar and he hasn't noticed!! Naughty I know but very MSE of me all the same :rotfl: :shhh:
I am going to have to go shopping alone, that is my one hard and fast rule, and I intend to stick to it, OH is useless at it and spends a fortune, as you know I have previously (Whinged about) mentioned it, it is a big bugbear (sp?) of mine!!
I also need to start driving better again, I have ditched my careful driving to save on fuel and have turned into Jensen Button when I drive to work. This obviously has to stop! My fuel is my biggest outgoing, I need to stop driving around with excess weight and baggage in the car too, this includes my personal excess weight!!!!:o
hmmm just realised this is the biggest post ever so I might go back into thought mode for a bit...... and write more later.

Hey Missy, know what you mean about toiletries, used to spend a fortune on them. I like to be glam too but something I do now is do a monthly shop at Savers/Bodycare or the like to stock up and only got to Boots if I DESPERATELY have to. Also use Aldi tampons, cotton wool etc (every little helps eh) and it has really helped! Do loads of my shopping at Aldi and like I said my wee online shop saves me a fortune as well as loads of hassle. It can be done and you are a determined lady so go for it XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0
