Now as I've been finding this DFW stuff hard to stomach sometimes especially now, after payday when everyone seems to be buying clothes etc and I'm not, Iand on I friday all I want to do is get a takeaway!!! (old habits die very hard)!!!! now I will put £40 aside for clothes.... as I am finding not buying anything really hard (I used to spend hundreds a month!! Hence the loan, silly missy!!!!) Then £100 left for anything else, which some months I know I wont spend especially if OH is away I will pay straight of the debt........ I know that I need something like that £40 to look forward to and to keep me going both on the weightloss and my debt free journey..... I just feel really bad in having it for myself and not for my debt........:( But I know I would just feel miserable without an incentive like that........ ho hum don't really know what to do......
I think that is a great idea. Those of us who splurge need to be realistic about tackling this and this kind of plan really helps. You'll be surprised that there will be times when you decide you don't want to spend it soon. It is great when you can save a bit up for a nice treat.missymoo81 wrote: »Have been thinking of how many things I have changed in my life in the last few weeks.
I don't think I'm doing too badly...... yaaaay
You are doing very well! All these positive changes. Next time you're feeling bored or like a splurge after payday maybe you could pop on here first and reread your diary. Posts of all the things you have achieved might stop you feeling so much like a splurge.
On top of everything else your input to diaries like mine on this board is helping others too. Another good thing you are doing! :T2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
you know what jellie I hadn't even thought that my random comments on peoples diaries would do any good to anyone...... thank you for that.
I have several confessions today....... not good things..... I have bought toiletries......well I bought deodorant.... it was £1 for dove roll on so I bought three!! and face wipes were 27p!!!!! so I bought four....... and the worst one.... I bought two dresses in tesco..... but..... the deodorant came out of the grocery budget and the dresses, well I thought they could come out of my £40 for clothes, but I don't think I'll want to spend the whole £40 as I feel awful for buying these two!!!
A good thing though...... I have bought 1 whole months worth of shopping and I mean absolutely everything there will be no popping to tesco's for milk etc, I have bought my step mums birthday present and my nephews birthday present all for just under £100!!!!! I can't believe it...... how can that do a whole month.... but if my maths is right I will do, and then some!!!! wooo hooo. Still feel rather naughty about the dresses though.....0 -
Missy if you have set yourself a 40 budget then dont woory but on tother hand if you feel bad keep one and take on back???????????????xxxxxxxxxxx0

I thought about only buying one, but I couldn't decide.... but that's me done for dresses as I now have seven, which is all I need.....ever!! I don't need to buy anything else... so hopefully I wont even spend my £40 a month... plus OH knows I am saving for the wedding and shouldn't be buying clothes.... but if that £40 is there and i have the choice to buy it then I think it will take the edge off my tight budget, if that makes sense.....
I think we should start a blankie club...0
