morning mum2one i hope you managed to get your computer sorted, there's nothing worse is there! my computer has it's tempramental moments logging like itself off of the internet without warning so I lose what I'm doing sooo frustrating!!!

Well I'm up bright and early as I have my monsterous to do list for today, really need to tidy up, it was fine until the weekend hit, now there's stuff everywhere, I hope nobody calls round!!

Now I'm a little bit worried, OH comes home next week, and I really can't wait to see him, but I really don't want my frugal ways to start slipping... I've worked so hard! He knows that we really need to start saving to get the wedding paid for so hopefully he wont notice/complain too much!!

The only thing he might notice is I've downbranded on a lot of things..... things that I couldn't get cheaper on offers etc..... there are a couple of things he might whinge about..... bacon being tesco value, but I can take that out of the packet.....yoghurts.... he's a muller light man, but I've switched to tesco low fat, which taste the same IMO, didn't dare get value he'd have gone mad. Things I knew I couldn't compromise on, walkers crisps, shreddies, kitkats and robinsons squash, but thankfully tesco had them all on offer!!! so I didn't need to worry... Have a mountain of cooking to do today to try and fill the freezer so that no more visits to tesco are needed.

well I'm going to finish my cuppa and get started..... in a bit
  • Hiya Missymoo -

Just wanted to say well done you are doing brilliantly! and your lists are obviously helping! Ive had a bit of a crap week, filled with LOTS of take aways, and OH not yet having his LBM doesnt really help - Oh well we live and learn - i might set myself a no takeaway challenge or something??

a no takeaway challenge sounds like a good thing to motivate you, I've found as soon as I say I can't do something for so many days, I am adament on not letting myself down....but I do know what you mean by the takeaways I have been drooling over wanting fish and chips for two weeks now!!!

Well so far today I have tidied two rooms, unloaded the dw, washed up, wiped all the worktops down and taken stuff out of the freezer.... now to start cooking.... well I need to have a look for recipes for minced beef and onion pie, chicken and mushroom pie and spicy meatballs first.... any ideas?? Will go and have a scout round the OS board.

  • Blimey, you can come round my place and bring some of that energy!

I know what you mean about not down-grading on some products, there are certain things that are not the same!! I've always bought a mix of brands/own brands/value stuff, but I have tried down-grading a few more things cos 'every little helps!'

Well done on everything so far, don't feel too bad about the dresses they were within budget, my fineliner pens were £7.88.........aaahhhh!!!

But still pretty chuffed with myself, managed to go shopping in Exeter, only used cash, AND didn't come away with any DVD's or CD's or games.......YAY!!!

I spent under £30 but loads of that was for the kids, spent a whopping £10.90 just on me!!! But I don't feel guilty cos I needed the pens and a set of plastic boxes for freezing lunches from poundland were essential, the only thing I didn't 'need' was a craft magazine (but it only cost me £2!)
