  • Clare - sending thoughts and hugs your way.

OH went off to work this morning at 3am as usual - called me at 10ish to see if I wanted collecting from yet later - asked him how his head was and no sign of a hangover to be seen!! Grrrr!! And I don't think he remembers much about yesterday anyway - will bring up some issues with him later and then leave it at that, I think.

I've made some veg soup from the leftover veggies from lunch yesterday, hung a load of washing up, stripped our bed, remade and shoved in WM, had lunch and just about to get ready for w*rk!!

    Hugs to all

  • Claire - thinking of you and sending positive thoughts to you & your family.

Had a busy weekend - lots of chopping back & some woodstaining in the garden, loads & loads of washing done, and a bit of housework/tidying (though nowhere near enough of the latter - esp. as my BM, her hubby & my DGodSon are coming at the w/e AND we have DH's 3 staying as well - as the moment I just don't know where we are going to put them all!!!!!).

Actually I overdid things a bit and ended up with backache & lower tummy-pain, so had to stop earlier than intended yesterday and have a nice long bath & then rest on the sofa for an hour. Still, at least I felt a bit more positive that some things got done, as the mess was getting me down.

Also managed to cook a roast on Sun, which I haven't for several weeks, so that was good and I felt better for having lots of lovely veggies (and the roasters of course!).

Still no real answer from HR dept re my work situation, and my latest 'consultation period' ends on Thursday, so in theory they need to tell me by then what is happening. We seem to be at stalemate at the moment! I won't give them an answer on whether I will take the job offered to me (which they and I have already agreed is not really suitable given my condition) until they tell me if they will make an offer of what they call 'enhanced redundancy' (basically anything more than the statutory 3 weeks worth I am entitled to by law), and they don't want to confirm what they are offering me until they have an answer from me...... I spoke to ACAS last week and they agreed with my position, which information I have passed on to HR!...and now the wait continues! Not doing my stress levels any good at all - I know I harboured a yen to be a SAHM, but I wanted that to be my decision, not one forced on me, and not to finish work quite this early before the baby is due!

Ah well. Nothing to be done but wait, and I am not the most patient woman in the world by any means!

DH eventually responded to my bad moods and moans with flowers AND chocolate on Friday, and we managed the whole weekend without any cross words, so I guess he'll think it was worth it LOL! He is a darling really.

    (((HUGS)))to all who need/want one.

    Have a good day,

    Hello everyone :hello:

Bargainbird: how awful, am thinking of you and your family x

Quite chilly here today, very autumnal, but have got 3 loads out on the line and another about to join them. Have spent the morning trying to get the house tidy again after being ill! My mum is picking DD up from nursery school for me though which is one less thing to do. Going into school this afternoon to volunteer teaching kids to cross the road, did it with DS1's class last year and it was great fun, so decided to volunteer again this year with DS2's class. It gets you out for a nice long walk once a week if nothing else! Dinner tonight is cold gammon with bubble and squeak, followed by leftover plum upside down cake with custard.

Gentle hugs to all who need them, and hope everyone who has been ill is feeling better.

    Have a good day x

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

  • Bargainbird - so sorry to hear about your brother in law. My thoughts are with you and your family. Its probably not a great help, but it is definitely good news that they have someone in custody already, and that the attack was captured on cctv.
