You always say the loveliest things xxSSL - street angel house devil then you 16 YO - I have one of those too. Hope it's some consolation that she clearly can behave responsibly when out...that's what keeps me going sometimes.

Thank you all for you good wishes for my first day. It went fine. It is a long day, 0800-1800 hours and the same tomorrow. However I'm off Wednesday and Thursday. Hurrah!!!!
I left a wee list of things for DD to do today. Today has been a holiday for our school kids...I know, they only just went back! Will be back with an update in a mo0 -
I only managed a little of my fly lady today but im quite happy with it.
Ive even done HHI which is completely unheard of in my house, so im very happy.
Was going to try to do more than half an hour, but, i have really bad cramp, and my back couldnt take any more, so the rest is lying for another day.
Going off for a nice long soak in the bath, get the kids to bed, then come on here and read everyones post to keep me motivated.

I have to try to resist the temptation not to snarl back!!:rotfl:

Welcome Jackie_W – and well done on doing your HHI and some flying, even a little bit is great – it all adds up and before you know it, you will be more on top of things!
Zoe, great news about Amelia starting to crawl! Sounds like a stressful week ahead, hope it goes well xx
Well done newbies on doing so well on your first day!
Ouch SSL, that is a long day. I used to do that on a Thursday and Friday many moons ago, but they were such busy days (supermarket) that it flew by. What job are you doing?
Well, I am very proud of my flat today - the kitchen looks brilliant, there's no washing up to do! Well, only what we used for dinner, but that's hardly anything! And the LR is nice and clean and tidy. And so is the bathroom, apart from the sink which is brown as I was soaking the hoover filter! I need to clean the sink again - will do tomorrow now. The filter was seriously gross and is probably the reason why the hoover kept over heating and dying. I've cleaned out loads of gunky sludge, hopefully it will be ok now. Need to clean it out more often.
I'm debating whether to pull out the sofa so I can declutter under it, or leave until after the holiday. It looks so good in here I kinda don't want to spoil the effect. But I also want to get on with decluttering! It will involve pulling out an armchair, sliding along an armchair, moving out the sofa and having an armchair in a funny place until the sofa is done."Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Dustykitten wrote: »PenPen - Whilst cleaning out the ladder I have found some slightly sale dorset cereal - can you point me in the direction of a suitable biscuit/flapjack recipe please hun
I use Mary Berry's flapjack (I have a batch to take to the office to tomorrow). It's one recipe that really benefits from using real butter
Just add some of the cereal in place of some of the oats.
Have you tried granolaI base mine on this recipe
I don't use wheatgerm, but do mix and match with what I have in. You could again substitute some of the oats for muesli. I sprinkle mine onto stewed fruit and HM yoghurt, or a HM smoothie.
