Focus RS or VXR8?

Nah, the VXR8 isn't that special to look at, in fact in the railway station car park I use it is positively dull compared to the following that is often parked next to it:

2008 models available for under £22K.
That's what I call an American muscle car, has the right style.
It's totally dire to drive of course, but what did you expect.
Even when you get the VXR8 for £26K it's still 88p per mile over 36 months and 36,000 miles. You can (if you wanted to) run a £32K+ BMW 335i SE with no options for 72p per mile, probably 80p-88p with the options you would want over the same period and distance with a 400 mile tank range to 30mpg.
i'll have 2 then, i'll take the shelby gt500 and the rousch one please.:j...work permit granted!0 -

May I ask what other cars you'd consider if you had £26k to spend? The only other option to me would be to buy a 2 year old Cayman (and save a bit more), I've considered most alternatives I think.
Depends on your exact criteria but:
Obvious ones
RS4
M3
M5
Z4 M Coupe
S4
335i
335i - Alpina (can't remember when these came out so might be a bit pricey)
Porker: Cayman, Boxster or 911
Audi TT new one 3.2 V6
Not so Obvious
Lotus - Exige, Europa, elise
Noble M12
Jag XKR/XJR S-type R
Merc AMG Any class depending on how old your willing to go
Scooby - The old version RB320 or a new spec C
Evo - Again probably the old one FR360?
350Z - Plus a loada change in your pocket. How much is a 370Z???
New Scirroco/Golf R
Thats off the top of my head i'm sure there is some others i could come up with. Once depreciation is factored in i don't think there will be a lot of difference between running costs - especially compared to a VXR8.
I guess if your looking at soley new cars there isn't much else out there except for a 3 series or a 370Z.0 -

Episode 1 of 20 of the new 2008 Knight Rider series was on Fiver last night. That's the car they use for KITT know. David Hasselhoff makes an appearance towards the end - father of the new driver "Mike".
thanks for that, i dont watch much tv,but i will watch that. im guessing its nowhere near as good as the original but probably still as cheesy!...work permit granted!0 -

Pontiac firebirds my crush (Smoky and the Bandit?).
But for a £2200 budget and near 200 MPH (if you want to), I'd get one of these.

I'd rather not sit astride one of those.......
I prefer four wheels underneath me...Genie
