Hahaha It is a very small world. Was this a "one day if you work really hard and finish your apprenticeship you can be Jose Capito exercise" or does this belong to you or someone you know Jeannie?
Regarding the choice in car's although they are both fantastic cars for £25-£28k i can think of much more tasty options available. But if it down to these two purely as the VXR8 will probably suffer heavy depreciation as well as monstorous running costs (althought the focus is a bit of a guzzler too - don't expect much this side of 20mpg). It has to be the focus. If running costs and depreciation don't matter then the VXR8 every time. Rear wheel drive, big V8 with enough power to go m5 baiting....what more do you want?0 -
yes but they cant buy a poverty spec VXR8 and stick chav tat on it either
What is it about the RS that brings the spitefulness out in people?? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Happened in the previous thread.............
I've not said anything against the Vauxhall - apart from that I know nothing about it, but it looks a lovely car - so have just voiced opinion on the RS - and you get the 'chav' bit again and again and again and again ........ change the record etc., gets rather tedious after awhile...
Suggest anti chav's be banned from RS threads....... :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:Genie

I downloaded the picture from pistonheads - it was dated around March before any were on the road........ just trying to help the OP rather than criticise his choice of the two cars that he likes. I also found a pic of the Vauxhall too - I know very little about it but found one that looked pretty damn good and was a good price too.
You criticise me for trying to be helpful to the OP ???? Why? Op asked a question - doesn't have to be shot down for it!Genie

Think how many Corsa's you could buy?
I'll sit back now, and wait for the abuse!0 -

My previous post wasn't intended to be critical - the opposite if anything. I had assumed the picture was one you had taken.
Since it transpires that it wasn't allow me to explain.
I was merely saying it was a small world because the picture is taken in the carpark of a building called CEME in dagenham i have cause to visit said building reguarly for business. Amongst other things, it is were ford trains its apprentice technicians (thats what the guys in the picture will be there for) hence my comments about Jose Capito who is the guy in charge of the RS project.0 -

I gathered that it was a Ford owned one as it was not released then and the give away was the Ford t shirts they are all wearing....... not sure about the Elvis impersonator tho, what's he doing there???
I now understand where you were coming from... and it would've been funny if I had known..
Re the Vauxhall, is the ride as hard as the RS? You may have gathered that I am partial to RS cars, past and present, but I would not want to travel in one daily as part of a commute - suspension rock hard as you would expect and want. Is the Vauxhall softer on the bum? If it is, I would be more inclined to go for that - I'm not as young as I used to be, I like comfort these days. As Goldie will tell you.Genie

Quite bizarre because I know someone (not that well) in that photo. I know you hear that a lot on the internet but it's true, honest guv!
May I ask what other cars you'd consider if you had £26k to spend? The only other option to me would be to buy a 2 year old Cayman (and save a bit more), I've considered most alternatives I think."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -

I wouldn't call it nice either .. its a bit of an animal ..
I still have only seen one other......... yet to see a blue one.
I can't comment on the Vauxhall - as I haven't seen one or driven one. But it looks good in the pic I found, bit like an Evo or old shape Scooby.
What about the Cadillac CTS 6.2 super V8 OP? Or has that not been brought out in this country yet? I saw an ad a while ago for Bauer Millet taking orders and I think it was about in your price range. Its faster and cheaper than an M5 and about the same size.0 -
I would have the VXR8, Its a monster, the noise out the V8 is awesome
I think it was on Top gear and they loved it.0
