  • I use the same amount and have no problems
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

    Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before but I managed to get some fresh yeast from my local tesco (for free :j ) and I have no idea how much to use for 1lb of flour

I usually use 1 tsp of dried yeast in my recipe.

Please can anyone advise me ?

Also, how long will it keep for in the fridge please?

    Many thanks

    Hi Frugal,

There's an earlier thread that should help so I've added your post to it.

    Thank you PW :)
  • I have a recipe that calls for fresh yeast, but I only have dried - is it possible to substitute, and if so, with how much?

    Thanks in advance

To substitute dry yeast for fresh yeast, reduce the amount called for in the recipe by half.

    I use the dried yeast...
But its the little sachets, that I use. I use one.
I think there is about 7 or 8 grams in each sachet, depending on brand.

    :)
  • Half as much.
