my due date is 2 days after yours and our tickers 9mine corrected) are two days apart so your 29+6 is right:p i was wrong and my midwife always comes up with different gestations - she has got one of those little wheel things which is always out by a couple of days. So i wont be hanging around thinking i am due on the wed now:D
    Thanks

    Hi everyone

I'm off to try to get a sweep this afternoon. I made an appointment to see the midwife but I'm not really sure what the procedure is with it. I don't know whether you can just go in and say "hi can you do a membrane sweep for me please?" lol! Bit embarrassing because she made a big show of saying goodbye and good luck to me last week so I feel a bit silly going back all still pregnant and everything! There isn't a way of contacting her by phone as far as I know you just have to make an appointment.

MIL is getting on my nerves she keeps ringing me and although well meaning is just upsetting me. I'm really hoping that I don't have to rely on FIL for a lift if I'm in labour or when I go for my induction on Thurs as I think she will come too and try to get in my face a bit. She was saying on the phone that she'll be visiting me when I go in for induction - sorry but really not the first person I would want to see if I was in pain.

I googled the consultant's scrawl yesterday and after a bit of reading found that it looks like my cervix is "favourable" for labour! Where the heck is it then:eek:????

Ooh also for those who have back to back babies - (now bear in mind that this consultant thought the mark from my jeans was an operation scar) I asked him was the baby still in back to back presentation and he said that no one should really tell the mother that as it just worries them unnecessarily as most of them turn in labour anyway and sometimes vice versa if they are front to back. I have been doing the all fours thing on the couch but it really is so uncomfortable I can't stay like that for long. I took his answer to mean there isn't a lot you can avoid it .

I keep snapping at DD today as she doesn't realise that I can't do everything I usually do. She's been getting me to search round the garage for things and getting impatient with me to do things for her like set up her entire sylvanian families collection on the floor. She also keeps asking if she can knock on her friends next door. I wouldn't mind her doing that but the girl is a bit younger than her and tends to want to sit with me more than play with DD and I really can't face that at the moment. So I feel like a rubbish mummy today and probably will do for a while until everything is sorted out.

Will let you know if the MW tells me to sodoff!

Afternoon ladies. Not posted for a bit so thought I'd update you all.

Got my 28 week scan next Tuesday so fingers crossed for that. Saw the midwife at 25 weeks - heard the heartbeat again which was fab. Got my HiP grant form to which I have received the money today - yippee.

Collected our M&P Pliko pram and car seat from the local M&P outlet store (saving £150 on the pram price just because it isn't one of the latest colours but now trying to find a changing bag etc to match the design) and a half price moses basket too so bagged a great bargain overall.

Congrats to all the new Mums and labour vibes to those who need them

  • Good luck fidget!! Hope she does the sweep for you!

I remember with DD2 despite all the problems i had going into premature labour i ended up going 2 weeks overdue  i ended up going down to the hospital (end of july n baring in mind i was the size of a bloody house coz of the polyhydramiosis) and i demanded to be induced :rotfl:

They ended up getting a consultant to come and see me and i cried and i screamed until he eventually booked me in to be induced 2 days later at 10am on the 1st august, he also did a membrane sweep for me there and then!

I actually went into labour on my own on the day i was due to be induced when i went in they asked for my name and the midwife looked at me and said your name sounds familiar she then realised i was due to be induced a few hours later  :rotfl:
  • Still catching up...
YAY thats great :) yay for 12 weeks, I thought I was 11+5 or soemthing and i was 12+3 (I still think they are wrong lol)

Ha thats similar to me Kindof, I thought I was 12 weeks to the day at the scan and they said i was 13 weeks to the day!! Loved that it went forward not back, but I still half think I am right, lol!!
OMG my OH has a coldsore! I don't think he's ever had one before. I've definitely never had one before so I really hope I don't get it as they're dangerous for little babies.

Hi GISI, fingers crossed for u that u dont get the coldsore. Do you know why coldsores are dangerous for little babies? I had my last one a few weeks ago so hopefully thats me done for a bit!!

Congrats again Nancmac, love the name Myla too :) Looking forward to reading your birth story and how you got on at Dorchester Hospital :) Hope the breastfeeding goes well. xx

Well done PP on the wardrobe, yay for the health visitor and landlord too, love helpful peeps!! :T

Good luck fidget. Not really sure what the procedure is but if you're 7 days over then don't see why they wouldn't do it for you, seeing as you've gone all the way down there.

    Good luck Fidget!

Happy due date Lizziebell if your lurking :hello:

OMG 3rd on the list :j

My stomach is doing flips. I've been to the loo (the runs :o) 3 times already so far today, seems to be straight after eating anything, I know this could be a good sign that labour is very near now, body clearing out and all that but then again how would I know it's that and not the fact I've been purposely eating spicier foods than normal to try induce myself!?
Going for a nice relaxing warm bath soon, although I don't know how relaxing it will be cos ds wants to get in with me
love my little man he is amazing :j
