thanks for the luck everyone, I'm actually feeling ok about it and I dont know if its intuition or wishful thinking.

On the naming front (love elliott by the way kindof), with DD who was my first MIL insisted that the first born girl in their family always had the middle name louise and they were all so pleased because it went really well with the first name we had chosen - I really dont know what they were thinking because we had told them what her middle name would be as well and i wasnt going to be changing it. I think this is when my problems with the in laws started and escalated when we visited and I expected OH to do his share of nappies. Didnt I know thats a womans job and he is on his holiday from work - I'm sorry but I was on my holiday too from doing everything. A big part of the problem is they dont see what it is like at home only when we visit and OH likes to get away with doing as little as possible so needs encouragement, apparently me saying 'come on its your turn I've been up half the night feeding and changing her' is out of order and I should just get on with it myself. I would do it all myself happily if i was a single mum but i'm not so i expect OH to contribute and he knows this and is free to leave if he doesnt like it - he hasnt gone anywhere yet but 5 years later it doesnt seem to have made much difference with his family. I actually got on really well with his family before we had children. They are the same with SIL other half too, loved him till they had a baby together now he cant do anything right so I think its them not me, at least I hope so lol.

Oh Elasti how sad for them. They are missing out on so much. I know my mum would have to have a really valid reason like she was on holiday before turning down babysitting her grandkids (brother & SILs). I must be pretty lucky with mine as they haven't put forward any names or any advice. Although it may be cause they live 250 miles away!

In-laws are about 30-40 miles away there is no way they could babysit for one night if they were 250 miles away :rotfl:Then they wouldn't have to make up an excuse. It's BIL's family that are 250 miles away. He is the fav and even more so because he lives so far away.

Elasti - So sorry about MIL they can be such a pain in the !!!! cant they, my MIL annoyed me cos I loved Lily for a girl and cos she twsted her nose at it OH decided he didnt like it (It doesnt matter now cos we are havng a boy lol) so I have told OH we arent telling ANYONE the name (apart from you guys know its Elliot lol)

Yeh i wish our ds hadn't told anyone the name but a 4 year old isn't going to keep it a secret! MIL does like the name but she def doesn't want us to have it incase her other son decides to have another child and wants it or that it might hurt his feelings if we have it as it is like we have stolen it.
We can't help that the 2 names we liked were also what they liked.
I tell you all this fuss when i announce his birth you will all wonder what was all the fuss about it really is a normal boring name.

our 3rd name we liked was charlie and MIL said oh so he will be a right charlie! Please tell me this is just the change or something. She really never used to be like this. Well it is since she found out i am having a boy. You know thinking about it she didn't once ask how i or the baby was.
    This is my signature!

    Morning!

Erin is gorgeous Jenny, you must be so proud and relieved she is here!

    No news on Nanc yet?

Congratulations Pookie!!! :T although I am highly jealous you got to que jump!

Hugs to Fattyboo, keep smilling hun xx

Fidget, I know I'm not over due yet (YET!) but I do know what you mean about the tension and excitement building up to due date then nothing happening..I;m due in 2 days and really didn't think I'd still be here if I'm totally honest...after already having my bloody show 2 flamin weeks ago!!!! AND I'm almost certain my plugs already gone, but nothing happening and I kind feel the same as you in thinking that nothings going to happen!! I have MW appointment on Wednesday which I really hoped I wouldn't be going to but I'm hoping to be examined to see what the hell is going on. Oh, and I'm with you on the pineapple front too..it doesn't bloody work and after you've eaten soooo many it tastes awful so thats it for me. I had sex with hubby last night and usually afterwards it triggers very strong braxton hicks but not even one of those happened this time!!! So think I'll stop the sex too lol it's too much effort.

Mel- this little man is being called Ethan if he ever decides to arrive  we chose it when we found out he was a boy at 17 weeks and havn't changed our minds once, we had a 4d scan done at 30 weeks and when we saw his face it just confirmed that we have picked the name for him 100%- it just suits him and the meaning-strong- is sooooo fitting, his kicks/movements are very strong, they really hurt sometimes!!!
love my little man he is amazing :j

Guys, sleeping bag advise, I want to get one or two for Elliot, now I remember last March very well because it is when me and OH came to look at this house (we bought it and moved in in April) but when we came to view it there was snow on the grass and ice on the road.

So am I right in thinking I should deffo get Elliot a 2.5 tog sleeping bag as we will still be in winter when he comes, and then get a couple more at say 1 tog?

    NikkiT,

Hiya, haven't caught up yet but wanted to rush on and say sorry, but I was asking my 2 Dr friends about your scar worries on the weekend, (wondering if what I'd said was medically correct) while I was away, and I think I said something misleading, so I've popped back to correct myself!:o

I was talking about how low a chance there is of uterine (ie wall of the uterus) rupture during labour your op, and I quoted how likely they are after a previous C-section. (Less than half of a percent). As I chatted to them though, we realised that you have no chance of that thpough, since the operation you had can't have been on your uterus, because it was on your ovary IIRC? So in fact the chance of you having a uterine rupture is nil.

I'm so sorry I was silly and sugested otherwise.

    Love Weezl x

it wasnt the utereus i was scared of splitting its my scar reopening as i push and my belly expands,

The nurse put some dressings on , on friday and i changed them last night , and i must say my scar is looking so much better , i have inadine square patches on them , i have reapplied soem more today and have to go back to docs next week , get results of the swabs on wednesday

    Thanks for the info weezel
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

  • I have to say Kindof after hearing Elliott from you I suggested it to OH - we are seriously lacking in ideas for boys naames- but I think he knew someone with the name who he didn't get on with so said no. Isn't it just the way - you either know someone with the name or someone you know has already used it!!
Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early) :D

Glam - next time you're on - when you taken Raspberry Leaf and EPO do you continue past the birth? How long should you continue taking them. I think I will run out on my EDD but wondering if you have to continue past it because maybe I should get some more.

I'm not Glam but I know that EPO is generally taken in pregnancy to soften the cervix to prepare for labour - but it's also quite commonly taken for PMS. So you could keep taking, but it's not strictly 'necessary' for pregnancy IYSIM?

RLT strengthens the uterus for both during & after labour and contains nutrients to help replenish you after labour. It's also known to reduce after-birth bleeding and help let down breastmilk (as well as contracting the uterus back to size), so deffo worth thinking about keeping up at least for immediately after birth. I'm not sure if a lot of people actually keep drinking it after the birth, but certainly it can't hurt!
