Wow, that is one healthy baby, well done you. Thanks too, that reassures me no end. All along I have said that if I can cope with endo then this shouldn't be too much worse and, as you say, at least there is a reason and I get something wonderful at the end of it.
Still not sure on the epidural, I understand (and agree) with your reasons for not wanting one but a friend of mine left it too late to ask and couldn't have one. I'm not sure which would be worse tbh.
More reading this week I think. And curry and pineapple tomorrow for tea.

Wow Nicki 38 hours!!! Are you all set to go?0

I'm very excited for you Nicki, you'll likely have your baby before me. Thank you for your post, I appreciate you taking the time. I also agree that it is not a competition and am happy to take whatever pain relief I will need at the time be that a TENS machine or a complete spinal block. I have no idea how I will cope having never experienced it before so I am grateful for the experiences of others whilst still keeping an open mind on my own situation.
It did, however, worry me a bit that both my best friends laughed at the suggestion that I would want anything other than completely painfree. I don't think they would say it to be nasty, or take the mickey, so I can only assume that they, having experienced it themselves, don't believe that I will handle the pain very well at all.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to have no pain relief and prove them both wrong but, as I say, I am open minded as to what awaits me. That's not to say that I'm not tempted to tell them both it was easy anyway, and what were they making so much fuss about (but that could just be my mean streak)

xxxWhy not? They won't ever know the difference, and it's difficult to see how them laughing at the idea you'd want anything other than completely pain free was meant entirely kindly, even if not meant to be deliberately obnoxious! You may well find though that you need a lot less than you think. Endo is very very painful, and I know a lot of people who've suffered from this, who say that labour is a doddle in comparison. If they don't have endo themselves and the worst pain they've ever experienced is labour, then it's easy for them to diminish your pain threshold without knowing for a fact that their own is higher.
csh, I've been set to go since I thought I was actually going on Bank Holiday Monday. Most nights I think I'll wake up with my waters having gone and labour started! I've only resigned myself today to having to wait until Thursday morning, so sod's law might say that tonight will be the night I go into spontaneous labour, with no arrangements in place for the kids until tomorrow evening!0 -

So being nosy i went on and had a look, and someone mentions a film called "the silent scream"
So i googled it, and see a wikipedia description telling me what it is.
Now im in two minds about watching it.
The reasons i want to watch it: Im curious (main and only reason)
Reasons i dont: I would prob cry, OH thinks it will affect me and give me nightmares. (i had nightmares about a miscarried fetus pic i stumbled across on google once)
So has anyone seen it? And should i watch it?
Thanksx
*skip this post if sensitive!*
Hi EA, i've seen that group on Facebook, i must admit i wish i never looked at the group photos on there because people have postd their little babies who were "born asleep" as they say and i was 23 weeks ish when i was looking and it was sooooooooo strange seeing these babies at same gestation.
I read about the silent scream too, and watched it on Youtube. From what you've said i prob wouldn't watch it, but tbh i read the ultrasound was edited for 'effects' and is not accurate and from watching it i believe it. I am rather cynical though! Basically without going into too much detail, the "Dr" talks about how serene the baby is before they enter with instruments and claim that a 12 week old fetus can feel pain as it appaears to struggle. This is where the clip was apparently sped up to give that effect when it's not true. If you're easily upset then you might find the most upsetting claim was that the fetus was too large for the vacuum so they have to make it smaller.
I do have a morbid curiosity, and have seen all kinds of awful things online - not from specifically looking for stuff to gross me out, just when i've read about something or come across it from an article. After watching the Silent scream i looked for a site which someone had posted in comments detailing the abortion procedures at each stage of pregnancy and it wasn't nice, as you can imagine.
I hope i didn't go into too much detail and upset/offend anyone, i did try not to!0 -

I dunno, i think they look hugely bulky and that most of the cost is for the car seat which is usually group 0 so don't last long. I prefer prams to be petite hence me liking the look of the pliko pramette! But i'll probably change my mind again by tomorrow lol!0 -
