Hi all, we are moved!!
I was so knackered yesterday i went to bed at 9:30pm, and slept awkwardly so now have a very sore neck
Got some deep freeze for it though.
The house is great! The kitten loves itAll the walking up and down the stairs is annoying though, our kitchen is on the ground floor but the front room is on the 1st floor
Finally packed away all our stuff now, just finished my clothes. Infact i hung up all the baby clothes before i even touched mine.Evan - how did you get on with the crib? We won our chair
Yay!! In the end i didn't even go on, i'll check in a sec to see how much it went for though. I was babysitting lol. But i gained more from that anyway! My dad is giving me my brothers cot bed, i had a look and its looks new! And his maternity chair! I dont know why he had one (lol) but he's giving it to me, i always wanted one, but couldn't afford it
Went to ASDA y'day to spend our £50 giftcard (gift from inlaws) and we got loads of stuff for the house. Got to the till and im at the end putting stuff in the trolley, OH is by the till and BIL is packing, and the check out lady says "Do any of you have any ID?"
Understandable question i guess if we were buying alcohole. But we were buying cutlery. She had to ID us cause it had a butter knife in....
And we were speding about £120 on household items so it was clear i was going to use them to eat with and not stab people lol.
Well i didn't have my ID, nor did OH. And BIL is only 17 so we couldn't use his driving license lol.
So we couldn't get them  I was also buying nappies so it was clear im a pregnant woman moving into a house, not a crazed hoodlam. haha.
JAM - Charlotte is lovely! My fave pic it the one of her in her jungle chair, it looks like she's scratching her nose hehe.
Kindof - How was the MW app? Did you hear the heartbeat?
I dont know when my next one is, my notes say in between 16-20 weeks.
I was trying to provoke baby this morning into kicking by poking my tummy lol. Didn't work
Had another ECG heart recording today, have docs Sat to find out results, had blood tests to. It hurt haha. Im such a wuss
Chicken burgers for dinnerHad pizza hut buffet for lunch, only managed 2 plates lol. But i did fill up on pasta

Hi Harley, hope your cold is feeling better
Not sure if you wanted people's views but I'll wade in anyway:p:D
edit: a sweep after 41 weeks results in natural labour after an average of 2.8 days...
I'm always interested in other peoples views, especially when they know what they are talking about and I don't.
I had already considered that I will probably need an epidural as I have a pretty rubbish pain threshold. Two friends at the weekend, one seen me with endometrial pain and one stayed with me when I had laser eye surgery, both agreed that I was unlikely to suffer gracefully and that G&A alone probably wouldn't be enough for me. Although I would like to give TENS and G&A a try first, I'm not admitting defeat before I start but I do know my limitations.
However, I didn't know about the forceps/ventouse issue which I would really hope to avoid.
The cold does appear to be getting a bit better, the fresh air and honey and lemon drinks seem to be helping a bit thanks. With any luck it'll go tomorrow and baby will arrive on Thursday when I have enough breath left to push her out.
Thank you again for your post, I really do appreciate your opinion and input.

Question for fattybooboo and Fidget
I see from the prams list that you have the Pliko Pramette, i've been on eBay and keep going back to this. Is it easy to fold down? Would it fit in a tiny boot?!
Currently confused as to whether i want a travel system or not. I don't like them but people keep saying it's better than waking baby up to transfer to pram from car seat.
Seen a Pliko starting at £50 on eBay so have got my eye on it.
Hi Beenie, well it took me a couple of goes to get the hang of folding it down but once I did I found it easy. Much to my embarrasment I havent actually tried it in my boot yetas we took it straight to DH sisters after we bought it to keep it for us as everyone kept saying we shouldnt bring it in the house before baby arrives. The girl we bought it off said it fitted in her fiesta if that helps!! I do love it though, especially when its in pram mode, it looks so lovely!! HTH!!
Just catching up so ill be back!! xxBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
I want your opinions, i was looking through my facebook groups and one of them is "abortion rate should be lowered from 24 weeks"
So being nosy i went on and had a look, and someone mentions a film called "the silent scream"
So i googled it, and see a wikipedia description telling me what it is.
Now im in two minds about watching it.
The reasons i want to watch it: Im curious (main and only reason)
Reasons i dont: I would prob cry, OH thinks it will affect me and give me nightmares. (i had nightmares about a miscarried fetus pic i stumbled across on google once)
So has anyone seen it? And should i watch it?
Thanksx

Hi Harley, hope your cold is feeling better

I would definately pick a sweep over an induction any day of the week. A sweep is at worse uncomfortable like a smear and a bit ineffectual.:D
Inductions almost always require an epidural since the pain is more sudden and acute. These then, and the speed of the chemicals forcing the contractions often leads to bad positioning, needing ventouse/forceps. Jille's story is very much the norm of inductions I'm afraid. I know of only one woman who was induced and didn't have an epidural.
I really HTH, and offer it to you just as my thoughts with gentleness and respect for what is your decision.:)

Now you know two!! No epidural for me, no assisted delivery either. Was induced at 38weeks.0 -

Thanks csh. Would you recommend it (for a wimp) and is there anything else I should consider that maybe I haven't thought of yet? Do you mind me asking what size baby was?

8lb15oz! I nearly fell off the table when they told me the weight!! I honestly would have no problem being induced again, I'm a wimp too, I have endo as well and have in the past been rolling on the floor crying with the pain, but honestly, labour is a different pain altogether. Its pain with a purpose, and your body knows how to cope with it.
(As a personal view, I wouldn't want to have an epidural as I think your body needs to feel the pain to make the pushing effective. I hope I would not get to a point where I needed one. Not a popular opinion tho!)0 -

Good luck whichever way you decide harley. Please remember though that reactions to pain, and the decision whether to take or not take pain relief, or which kind, is not a moral issue or a test of character. Your perception of the level of pain is influenced by lots of different things, from the difficulty of your labour, position of the baby, speed and intensity of contractions, etc, to how tired you are, to what your expectations of the experience were in advance. Having an epidural, shot of pethidine or gas and air is not at all the same as mainlining heroin throughout the course of your pregnancy! Personally I'd rather take the pain relief if I need it, and be able to look after the baby after the event and avoid unnecessary mental trauma, than struggle on as a hero and end up making myself very ill, and that would be more so in your situation with limited support atm.
Given that I'm having a section (in about 38 hours now :j), I'll be having the most humungous epidural going, and its the best decision I've ever made for me and the whole of my family including my unborn child! Which isn't to say that different decisions made by others in different circumstances are wrong, because everyone must make their own choices based on their own situations, and ideally all respect each others right to choose.0
