Just had my mattress delivered and was a bit p'd off that they wouldn't let OH sign for it, I had to come down and do it (I was in the loo hehe!) I had already rang Sealy and told them I could be in hospital when it was delivered and that I might have to have my mum take delivery. Well the guy said that he wouldn't have been able to leave it if I hadn't been there!
Presumably this was being delivered to your house? Do they think that someone has broken into your house, to wait in for your delivery so that they can steal it?!?!Fishcake_Random wrote: »Hey all,
I`m getting all excited as I have recieved a letter saying my next scan is wednesday!!! Is this the one where we find out what we're having? i'll be almost 17 weeks.
And i just had my first little flutter. whoop whoop.
Congrats on the flutters!! S/he'll be kicking you like crazy before you know it!
Mine is in a weird position the last couple of days, not getting kicks to me belly now, more down below, very strange feeling!Evansangel wrote: »
Just had lunch, and am feeling a bit better
And work are getting me a free eye test, i need a new one as i want to go with specsavers for my contacts as they are cheaper than D&A.
My left eye keeps going blurry lol. I thought i was cause my contacts got to the end of there 2 week period, but i put my new ones in today and my left eye is still blurry. Its very annoying haha
I think I read somewhere that your prescription can change whilst pg, so maybe don't buy too many contacts at once, or be prepared to have another eye test after baby arrives. Check it out though as I may have remembered that all wrong!
Oooh I got a voucher emailed from pizza express today - 2 main courses for £10 :money: Very MSE as the pizza I like is about £9ish anyway. Taking DH on Sunday. Yum yum.0 -

Im getting the pay monthly ones. So once baby arrives i'll get work to get me another eye test. I should be allowed that even though im on ML is that correct? As its a work benefit

Weezl sorry if this is a gross Q, don't feel you need to answer
but I think I remember you saying you had a water birth? Did you poo whilst in the pool? I'm really nervous about this happening as I'd love a waterbirth.
I don't mind you asking at all Gymfiend
I was in the water until 8cms dilated. I knew that 8cm was the latest they'd give pethidine (as it can over sedate the baby if given too near the actual birth).
I was pretty tired and finding the speed of contractions intense and as a first timer, had no real sense of what was to follow, so I requested the pethidine.
The NICE guidelines say you can't go in water after pethidine, in case you are too sedated and drown, so I came out of the pool, and did the last hour and a half to 2 hrs on dry land on my downstairs futon covered in a shower curtain (it, not me, I had a T-shirt on!)
So my poo actually came out when I was on all fours (nice!).
It went like this:
Me (between primal groans): I've pooed!
MW: Oh don't worry that happens all the time it's fine, you're doing great!
me(in pathetic little girl's voice): but it landed on my foot! :rotfl:
DH still finds this bit very funny. Also my rantings about the gas and air and often teases me about one particular comment
But don't worry if you poo in the water, it's very normal, and honestly everyone is so much more interested in the baby you're pushing out (you included) that no-one, quite litrally gives a !!!!!!! And that's what you have a sieve for
Hope all that helps?
Weezl xxx

I doubt they'd pay for one now and one once you've had the baby as I think they only have to provide them every two years, but I might be totally wrong!
My prescription has definitely got worse, I'd guess since about 28 weeks but I'm hopeful it will go back to normal!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Fishcake - are you in scotland i think they only do one scan at around 16 weeks? three will know better than me.
Weezle - "I knew that 8cm was the latest they'd give pethidine (as it can over sedate the baby if given too near the actual birth)." - thats a useful piece of info - thanks

Weezl that's really funny about it landing on your foot! Probably not at the time but it is now! i just laughed out loud in the office. Think my boss is wondering why I find writing up a risk assessment on an asthmatic student so funny!0

jha, click on the little "+ symbol next to quote for each post you want to quote, but press the quote button on the final post you want to quote, and it should bring them all up.
Sometimes it only lets you do 3 at a time though. It's a little temperamental.0 -

I sometimes laugh out loud when i read stuff on here. And im 60% sure im not meant to go on here and the managers just dont know about it. So when people look to see what im laughing at i have to quickly close the page down :rotfl:0 -

EA I'm definitely not allowed on here at work but they just don't know about it to block it!
I'm leaving at half 3 today though! I hate my job but I love that it's flexi time.0
