Sj - thats what im doing. I have 3 packs of huggies already, but im going to get some supermarket own brand as i've had loads of recomendations from mums that they are fab! And more mse :)

Kindof- i have them to :D and the breast pump, and electronic steam steriliser and CTN dummys (into keeping to the brand me :D)

What did you MIL say? x

Well Ive had a problem with breastfeeding from the start, I always thought I wanted to do it but I wasnt sure, then all MIL would bang on about is how good it is for the baby, and basically that it wouldnt be good or nice of me not to breastfeed, well I am the kind of person who HATES being told what to do and I will rebel and do the opposite

But I rose above her and ignored her pestering me and turned myself around into breastfeeding.

BUT I want OH to be able to feed babybean as well hence the bottles and pump

So we got the bottles, and she took one look of them and turned and glared at me and said "I thought YOU were feeding him, what a disgrace"

So I said not that it has ANYTHING to do with you but I am breastfeeding and those are special desgined bottles so that OH can feed to, she then went on a rant about how I shouldnt do it that way cos baby will get confused and its not right?!?!?! I mean !!!!!!! so I said what do you not want your son to feed his child to which she kinda shut up.

Anyway I spoke to my friend here at work who breastfed (still is) and she used breast and bottles and her baby took to it like a duck to water

Awww I want some dummy's what size are they? I have the CTN range as well but I have the microwave sterliser not the electir one

Do you have diferent size teets? what size bottles do you have?

Are the shops on brand ones good?

kindof - FWIW it tends to be the "older generation" that goes on about nipple confusion between breast & bottle. Most up-to-date MWs will tell you that particular myth has been pretty much dispelled in the medical community. So tell your MIL to keep her nose outta your business! :p

Thats terrible kindof, what woud she have said if you couldn't breastfeed? I am considering expressing boobie milk and giving it to halfpint using a bottle. I know i am going to get some ammount of milk as i have colostrum already but i dont think i could tolerate the pain of booby feeding (already have boobie probs) but i will give it a go.

I like the look of the CTN range too, had everything Avent last time but chucked all the bottles 'cos they go all yellow after a while.

Pampers gave my DS horrendous nappy rash last time (as did ALL brands of wipes!! Cotton wool and warm water for us!) , so used Huggies when he was newborn as we were given a load, then as we were potless went onto Asda nappies which turned out fab!! Hope they're still as good.

EA, can I add you as a friend on Facebook?

    Yeah sure, add away :)
I'll accept when i get home tonight :D

And SIL says pampers are rubbish and she loves ASDA own brand.

Im like that, i hate being told what to do

Yeah thats why i got them :D

Haha good! Tell her to do one :p

Umm.. i think they are newborn. I got them in mothercare, but they are a bit cheaper in tesco :) and i got the electric streiliser in mothercare, one was reduced to £20 i snapped it up. I wasn't even pregnant at the time :rotfl:

Do you have diferent size teets? what size bottles do you have?

At the moment only have size 1 teats, and i have the standered size bottles and a small one that comes with the breast bump

Are the shops on brand ones good?
Alot of people say they are :)

I know i want to BF.
But im slightly worried as i had my nipples pierced and only took them out in April when i was in hospital. So hopefully its all healed and the tubey things have reconnected, (a doc told me that by getting the piercings it splits the tubes in half and they have to reconnect for BF)

Also scared it will hurt lol x

EA I just made no-bake flapjacks! Just waiting for them to cool so I cancut them up and try them, not made them before.

Good news though - my oven is being fitted as we speak! Whoop whoop!!!

Making room in my freezer too by changing what we were going to have for dinner. Chicken and leek pie now instead of chilli, will have chilli when friends come on Thursday as turns out neither of them will eat duck. Also need to use up some of this veg I got delivered today! Now I'm looking for a yummy kale recipe as I'm not sure what do do with it.
