I arranged my meal out with my office and also sent an email round to the rest of the department to say I would be in the pub at lunchtime if anyone wanted to join me for a drink. a couple of people brought cakes in which was good. Plus the office got me some flowers and said they would get me something after Jr was born. I did say I didn't want anything because I had a "do" and money for my wedding in May so don't feel bad about it.

It was a bit strange tho because I will be going back because i really get on with them all. i have a dentist appointment on Friday which is next to my office so I will pop in then. Plus I am going to a meeting on the 13th Oct which I agreed to attend (I am on AL at the mo so just took one day less leave). So it was not like I wasnt seeing them again.

Congratulations Squishy! Really pleased to hear from you. Hope you and Elena are doing well and get home soon. x

PP - that is disgraceful. I feel so sorry for kids like that - how are they meant to grown up to be responsible/respectful adults when they are treated like that? I can't abide swearing at or in front of children never mind the general neglect!

Ladies, remember when buying outfits to check the sizes carefully for their weights. Tiny Baby was mentioned by Harley as 7.5lbs, but in Next, the Newborn size has a maximum of 7.5lbs. The Newborn size in Mothercare is up to 10lbs. So it's different everywhere. Holly didn't get to wear any of the Newborn Next clothes which were all brand new. Also the Newborn M&P and John Rocha sleepsuits are too small for her. Even the Mothercare ones are slightly on the small side although she is under the 10lbs. We are going to have to invest in the next size up as her legs are too long and I am worried about squashing her toes.

Glam - if you are around, what length is Jack? Holly was 59cm when born!! I saw you all talking about percentiles on the Parent Thread, and I think Holly is around 95 percentile, but not sure I am working it out correctly! She was 8lb 7oz when born, and is now 9lb 6oz! No-one has charted her though.

Also, I highly recommend the Mothercare and Next sleepsuits as they come with fold over scratch mitts attached. The Asda/Tesco ones I have don't, and Holly really needed scratch mitts as she kept scratching her face. It's 100 times easier when you can just fold over the attached ones at the end of the sleeves than mess about trying to put mitts on!

Kindof- I honestly don't know where it came from, apparently he is tired by Thursday every week and has been for 18 months but hasn't thought to mention it until now. I guess he;s seen or read something and panicked!

Som- yay team pink. I was feeling left out! Sorry work is so carp, luckily I'm in the NHS so they are over the top cautious with me so not had any problems with work mates. They all got to feel the baby kick today so were all really excited!

EA- maternity clothes rock, so much more comfortable!

    SJ- I'm 26 too

    Squishy- congrats!!

Aless- thanks for the info about the jab, I've got mine soon, so will have to allow some extra time

Princess- thats awful, some people just don't deserve children

Helen- massive labour vibes for you!!

Hugs to everyone feeling pants, hope you are all feeling better really soon.

EMotionally I have been a bit up and down, but I'm a bit emotional at the best of tiimes so can't blame it all on the baby!

Someone at work asked me if I was having a baby shower but I haven't thought about it. Will use our christmas lunch for my leaving do as I know it's a busy time of year.

Am spending all day tomorrow looking at houses and trying to sort out banks for some new employees coming voer from Spain next Saturday:eek: which has been dropped on me recently. Can't wait to start doing my normal job again!

Feeling quite tired today, but still loving being pg at the minute.

OH was talking to bump last night, well shouting 'hello' and waiting for an answer, was so funny!!

just watching tv and bidding on ebay , just bought 5 different auctions ,a nd the postage the person wants is £12 , omg have messaged them to say that is a bit OTT, and can they re look at it and pack everything to gether , i be grudge having to pay that much when they can pack it altogether and prob cost about £4, it was last minute bidding so no time to ask b4 end of auctions
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Have not been on in ages been having issues with vodafone broadband.
I am 35 weeks today (how on earth did that happen lol) and am feeling seriously crappy, have been throwing up for 2 days now . Reckon it's just bubs pushing up on my stomach as I have killer heartburn almost 24/7 now.

Hi everyone, Ive just caught up, yay!!

Pookie - Ive been wondering where you have been, glad your back on here now as Im 35 weeks today too :T Hope you start to feel better soon, being sick is horrible isnt it. Got my midwife coming to do her visit at my house tomorrow, Im ready with bones to ssh the dogs up hopefully, lol!!

    Congrats Squishy :T

So far my pregnancy has been quite good i think, not been too ill or anything, and just the last few days Im feeling a bit rubbish, my piles are getting worse, boo hiss, got a cold sore come up on my lip yesterday and had 'swimmy' migraine eyes today and a headache. Having said that, compared to what some of you are going through I really shouldnt be moaning at all!! Ive also been getting emotional the last couple of days but not been too bad today.

Well I listed quite a few bits on ebay last nite, ive lost the will to do anymore tonight though, might try and muster up the energy in a min as I finish work on Friday so thought I would have more time to post off the parcels if they sell :)

    xx

    Hi everyone
Massive congrats to squishy!! :j Hope csh is a mummy, too.
Age-wise, I'm 41 & had my other kids when I was 18, 20, 23 & 39. The only difference I notcied with my 2 year old (& this last one) is being incredibly tired much more often, esp now I have to run after a toddler again! :rotfl:Each labour has been fairly quick, no problems, no stitches or intervention - think I've been really lucky in having no health problems in pregnancy, except now suffering a tiny bit last couple of days with p!les (think I will have to see dr tomorrow after all!)
D-day next Friday, not sure if I will get that far, Scottish fey gene rearing its head at the mo, trying to tell me something! :D
Labour vibes, hugs & kisses to all
    A xo

  • It's quiet on here tonight!

I'm just sat browsing eBay looking for bargains for my little bubba, who is happily kicking away.

Picked up some Evening Primrose Oil tonight so will start taking that this week as I'm 36 weeks. I've also upped my RLT to two cups a day, which is no hardship as I really like it!

I'll second the 4Head stuff - it's a God-send!! I know I can take paracetamol but I try not to take too much due to personal preferences so back when I was getting headaches almost every day a few months ago, I started using 4Head and it's great! Good way to avoid taking too much paracetamol if that's important to you.

I've not heard of 4head before but will definitely check it out. I don't suffer from headaches very often so really can't cope when I do!!

The literature I've got (I think it was the Emma's diary magazine) said to avoid paracetamol until 12 weeks. I was a bit gutted when I read this coz I thought I'd read online that it was ok.

Somnium - I can't believe your work colleagues have reacted like that. I'm a manager for a ladies clothing retailer and I had to have a risk assessment done by my Regional Manager. I have it in writing that I'm not allowed to move floor stands, lift boxes, use ladders, have to take my breaks so that I'm not on my feet for over 3 hours at a time etc etc! My staff have been great as well, even my poor Assistant Manager who's having to do all of the manual stuff. I get shouted at if I so much as lift a chair or come back with too much shopping. I've just read Beenie's comment and agree that you definitely need to put a complaint in to someone and make sure someone puts them straight.

EA - where have you been getting your maternity clothes from? other than peacocks I don't really know where to look. I have my 11 week scan in 9 days :)

I'm with the rest of you - I absolutely LOVE Greggs sausage rolls. We have a Greggs opposite my shop and it's so tempting just to pop over and get one when I can't be bothered cooking my soup!

    SJ - I'm 28

Squishy - big congratulations on the arrival of little Elena Lesly - glad you're both doing well and can't wait for pics

PP - you definitely did the right thing - it's quite shocking the way people turn a blind eye. I was driving to work one day last year and saw a young girl (about 11 or 12) lying on the floor at the side of the busy road with her bike next to her, not even moving. I drove up to the roundabout and turned round and only one other man had stopped. She'd fallen off her bike and was really upset. The man was really glad I was there coz he said he would have felt so awkward puttiner her in his car to get her home. There must have been atleast 100 cars drive past.
