Hi everyone! Hope everyones keeping well.

I got an appointment date today for my 12 week scan, on 5th November. Although there was some discrepancy over how far gone I am when I had my early scan a few weeks ago. It's all starting to feel a little more real now.

Been suffering with morning sickness this week but I've also found that it's making me even more hungry than normal! I really don't want to put on huge amounts of weight as I'm already very overweight but I feel really sick if I stop eating.

On a similar note, do any of you (who don't mind sharing) have any experiences of how being overweight has affected you in pregnancy and the care you've received. My BMI is 37 and the midwife immediately put me down for consultant led care.

    Muso x

Being overweight hasnt affected me at all during pregnancy (i have a bmi of 41 now at 27 weeks) I was immediatley put as consultant lead care due to bmi too. They did offer me slimming world and once a month aquanatal but i decided to do a daily walk (not fast) of 45 mins to an hour and preg yoga at home.

My health has actually been 100% better during pregnancy with a less prominant heart murmour and a lower more healthy bp.

The only thing i have found difficult is that i already had a fast heart rate and this isnt far off halfpints now mine is in the high 90's and babies is 147.

I have watched what i eat as far as i can - if you are feeling hungry try and have a healthy snack instead of chocolate:cool::D My baby loves raw carrot and fruit so i have been lucky (and larger - but i havent had any:D)

If you do have any questions related to it please feel free to PM me:D

Social services just rang me back to tell me they had been out to the house and they didnt have any children they had written down the wrong house number

She then asked me why i waited til this afternoon to report it if it happened this morning at which i pointed out that it happened this afternoon and after 20 minutes of trying to find the right number for SS i then reported it to them straight away

What hope has this kid got if they cant even get times and addresses right !!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

i'm feeling really crap now and have started crying - how crap am i? Feel well disappointed in myself for doing so little today, should go and do something now but just want to sleep :(

    <<hugs to karen too>>

Well done princess :T for reporting that awful woman and her poor kid - it makes me so mad some people spend ages trying for the chance to have a child and some people treat their kids so terribly. I have had to report child abuse before and it takes alot of bravery when the parents are rough.

(did anyone else just randomly get logged out?)

PP, glad to hear they've said they action it today! How terrible for that little boy - I would've been fuming!! Odds are prolly high he got that black eye at home, how sad. Good luck on your scan, too - who knows, you might not be due on Christmas Day anymore!!

lou - ahhh, that's prolly why then, I thought it was a voucher inside :).

EA - I have no friends (sorry not trying to be melodramatic) but I wouldn't want a shower anyway, as it's just not my sort of thing. They are v popular in the USA.

I'm totally up in the air about Christmas outfits!! Since the baby has equal chance of coming after Christmas, I don't wanna buy stuff and then not have a chance to wear it...but if it comes before, I so want 1 totally cute outfit for the day! Agh :p If it comes before, I'll just send DH out on a last-minute Xmas Eve Mothercare run, lol...:A

If I were you I'd buy an outfit but leave the labels on and keep the receipt then take it back if you don't need it. I might be wrong but I suspect they might sell out before Xmas Eve!

Aww gisi you will meet your little baby real soon though! x

People have tried to put the idea into my head that they might have got my babys sex wrong and that he could be a girl, but I don't think that for 1 min..just looking at the pics, he looks like a little boy, if that makes sense!?

Thanks Helen! As I said to PP, I was under the impression it is much more common for them to think it's a girl when it's actually a boy IYSWIM, but not the other way round. I thought you saw all the crucial bits anyway :rotfl:.

I haven't had a baby shower and won't be now. I didn't even get a card or a leaving meal/night out when I left work so somehow I doubt very much a baby shower is on the cards. Unless I organise it myself but then whats the fun in that? Talking of work not organising anything for me when I left...I got a text today from one of the girls..asking me if I'd like to go along to a meal/drinks tommorow night for one of the receptionist girls as she's having an operation next week!! Flucking cheek! I declined.

I got a card and baby basket but no drinks or anything- I guess pregnant women aren't that much fun on nights out

Thanks JHA. I feel much better now. Just done some baking and washing up! It's all rock and roll in this house.

Harley- I have one tiny baby set (which was a gift from my boss) but I'm not expecting to need it!

jha tbh i dont think i would have done it had there not of been so many people about there were that many people though it could have been anyone so the chances of it coming back on me are quite slim i know its selfish but i got the girls and bump to think about :o

Well i am logging off now i have checked on you guys:D Still feel really ill and the bliming hosp wanted to admit me last night to monitor the baby because i am having difficulty keeping water down and breathing - they started to mention something about an "isolation ward" as i have flu like symptoms and i flat refused i am afraid - what preggy lady would walk into an isolation ward if they had any choice (i.e. not on deaths door iyswim). I knew the baby was ok as i could feel some movement and had a good strong hb on the doppler.

Drinking water now and have managed a piece of toast today so fingers crossed it will get better soon. Baby seems oblivious anyway:rolleyes:

The confusing thing is i have all the symptoms of swine flu - and others i.e. earache / deafness but not the temp so they think it is another type of virus:confused: So i qualify for isolation but not a medicine like rolenza:confused:

Just shows how many other nasty illnesses there must be out there. Speaking personally I am most certinally more positive about trying to get a swine flu jab after struggling to keep bubs going when i could hardly breathe and drink and feeling it go really quiet for 24 hrs or so.

No princess you are right about your and your lo's safety - they come first. I really had to stick my neck on the line when i reported the abused kids - i wasnt the only one in the street though and i enough trouble cat napping a cat from the house i reported and re-homing it without being beaten up let alone for reporting for the kids. Its now big and fluffy healed and living with my relatives:D

Hope you feel better soon jha!!

They are exactly the same symptoms as i had when they diagnosed me with swine flu, i didnt have the temperature neither!! Spoke to the GP on the phone and she said that there have been some cases where there wasnt any temperature would it be worth ringing and speaking to your GP? They prescribed me with relenza. It really did knock me for 6 though i was stuck in bed for a good week!!

Thats the next thing i need to sort out is the stray cat that the rspca aint interested in  roll on 9 days and moving off this damn estate
