Jenny - I can be a real chatterbox but I think thats cos I dont get to chat regularly , specially bout baby stuff hehe. My family are all up North too, Mum in Derbyshire near Burton and Bro in Harrogate, everyone else in between.

Am having another down day today after almost passing out and throwing up on train into work - how on earth are you still managing to work jennynoo?! - but will def try and make aquanatal this week, really missed it last week, perhaps we should sort out time for a gossip afterwards? I feel the same - my close friends are all single and childless and in ne london, my family are all over the place, my mum who is overseas and I've not long moved to this area so all the people I know locally are DP's family and friends.

always - I'm also in the same boat...wish I could get to aquanatal with you ladies!! I don't start ML til 30 Nov so couldn't get to anything before then and by then you lot will all have popped :p. All my family's back in America & other friends are not in same situation...feel your pain, which is why MSE is a great outlet.

I've been feeling much better about this since I started researching Mum and Baby things to do a few days ago. I am now in a couple of FB groups for local Mums, who seem to organise meets and things pretty much weekly. I've also found out about Rhymetime at my local library, a local slingmeet once a month and a Mother and Toddler Group (but it's age 0-4 so babies too) just down the road from me. I'm also hoping to go to Buggyfit as I just love the idea of it. I found Netmums a good starting point.

It is daunting though. Most of my family are about an hour away (obviously nowhere near as far as yours, but it does make popping over for coffee etc harder) and none of my friends have babies.

The only drop in a found for pregnancy and babies is a young mums drop in.

But i dont think im young enough, i'll be 21 once baby is born. And its more of a teenage drop in centre lol

speaking of aquanatal...Jenny (and others) I know you leave near-ish me - how do you get down to the pool? a quick glance at the map makes it look a bit awkward to get to?? or am I missing something?

Anyone ever had to deal with mental health problems that is able to give better advice than see your GP. Went to pick up DS and my mum is in tears and my sis is really bad and no one is giving them help just saying they will try to sort something out, but thats all we ever hear and they have made it apparent that they will not take her in to the psychiatric hospital as "she isn't hearing voices". Which leaves us what? we have no idea all we ever get is call your GP, GP just says She is looking into it but has done nothing. They won't change her meds as "we don't want to make her unstable"HELLO she isn't stable now thats the effing problem.

I literally feel like all we can do is organise her funeral it's getting harder everyday to keep her calm and now my mum is in a state too shes not sleeping and has started to be sick and choke all the time and is struggling with her diabetes etc and all the doc said was we could give you sleeping pills, like she would take them with my sis being suicidal!!!

    Sorry just upset

I have a cotbed matress coming fri, I got it from boots.com they have 20% off nursery items at the moment plus tripple points if you are in the parenting club and i used a code and got a further 10% off bargain :T

We would have used the same one as we did with ds but he was sick soooo many items on it we thought we would have a new one. Our old one didn't have a removable cover which i would def recommend.

I don't know where it is going to go though as we haven't touched the babies room yet. I am not sure i would even be able to get in the door with 4 years of junk that is piled in there.

We are looking for a changing unit with drawers but are having trouble finding anything cheap enough. Looked on ebay and gum tree but nothing near us and most don't have drawers they have shelves.

Hugs (((32b))) i have no experiance or help other than may be try a different doc or change clinics altogether go with your mum to the apt and demand her to be referred or something to be done right now.

aless - somnimum is not as far as jenny or me so hopefully you'll get to meet her, there was a lady there a few weeks back who was being induced on the Monday and was there the Thursday before so I might get to meet you too! Although, right now and as long as the little man is healthy, I think I'd rather the Glam style of arrival!

Which reminds me - CONGRATS HARLEY! I did a load of family tree stuff once and have some roots in the west country and came across a couple of Kezia's, it's such a lovely name and lovely pics too!

I finish work 2 weeks on Wednesday so only have 12 days left in the office :T and I won't be going back either if I can help it, I'll need to do something but 3 hours of commuting coupled with office politics and a boss who won't let me work at home at all (2 other pg ladies at work on other teams have been working at home since 15/20 weeks) and is adamant I can't go back on any form of flexible working means I can't wait to see the back of the place.
