  • Thanks Gymfiend, that's very interesting! I've budgetted £200 a month when I'm on SMP but that will include nappies etc too. Like you I'm stocking up at the moment. We probably have enough size 1 nappies (might even have to swap some for size 2 or 3 depending on how big baby is) and quite a few size 2,3 and 4 too! We definitely have enough wipes and baby toiletries to last while I'm on ML and quite a bit of shampoo, shower gel, washing liquid etc as well. I'm a bit of a hoarder.......

hi all sorry just popping back on - thanks for all your comments. The flu line and nurse on nhs said to keep the temp down so i knew it must cause some problems some times. Have spoke to my dr and he said a temp over 38 in the first tirmester can cause a increase risk of spina bifida and miscarrige.... I have heard the heartbeat last night so i think baby is ok at the moe and i have my nucal scan on tuesday so i should know what the risks are soon after then... fingers crossed baby will be fine - i'm hoping its only a slightly more risk etc as im sure they would have got me into hospital or something if it was a high risk. so keeping positive!! And my hunger is back which has made the morning sickness come back so a little reasurance things are ok :)
thanks for alll your nice comments :A

Hoarder here too :o We've enough shampoos to last a family of 5 for at least a year, and enough shower gel to keep the whole of England clean for a good few months :rotfl: I think we're pretty good at stretching our food budget, I buy lots of things when on offer/reduced & freeze them, and we eat quite a lot of pasta which is mega cheap, plus I don't like meat so if I cook something with meat like chicken, I always use one breast and eat around it (i.e. a curry - i just eat the veg & sauce). We used to spend near £100 a week in Sainsburys :o because it was convenient but since I'm working from home full time now I go to Mr T's which has drastically cut the bill :D I'm such a saddo!

It is EA, I am my own business! I work on a consultancy basis for new projects...copy writing, managing small scale projects, that sorta thing :) Also run a little business exporting clothes & accessories. Jack of all trades!

I really enjoy trying to save pennies on my shopping. For me a monthly shop online with top ups at places like Lidl and Aldi are the best way to keep things tight. I don't eat meat, and OH doesn't eat meat at home so that does save money.

I have about 12 packs of size 1 EA, but I think that might be too many. It really depends how big baby is to start with. Asda will apparently swap sizes if necessary though, so I'm hoping my local one will!
