Hey scaredy_cat
That B&B is quite a bit away from Haymarket. Probably at least a 20 min half an hour bus journey.

Yeah... its not overly central but its on loads of bus routes (see here for bus site. The B&B is mid way between Newington and Cameron Toll on the route map). ~15 mins into Princes St by bus or ~30 min walk to Princes St (longer to Haymarket).
If you are arriving by train (Waverly station is nearest) or coach you can get a direct bus there from Princes St (providing the tramworks finish in time lol!)Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

I am staying in my house!! I live out near the airport on a direct bus route to city centre
Also staying in my house - ten minutes by bus from the city centre
Scaredy - the B&B you have chosen isn't the most central which is why it's cheaper, but it is easy to get to the city centre from there as it's well served by buses. A day ticket will be £3 and this lets you use any Lothian Bus service which will take you all around the city. The night bus is more than that (Travel after midnight I think) but I'm an old lady who doesn't go out :A so I don't know how much it is. The B&B location is a good a one as any, as many others will be more expensive by vitue of being ten minutes closer to town.0 -

Only a few weeks away now
Has anyone decided/discussed where we are going to meet? (and when for that matter?) Any of the local people have any suggestions and recommendations?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
We need somewhere which is central and easy to find. I'm assuming that due to the nature of the forum (DFW being our watchwords!) we should pick somewhere quite cheap if we can.
What's the plans folks? Are we going to meet up during the day or in the evening? What about dinner for the folk who are visiting for the weekend?
Cheap pubs which are ok for boozy fun could be Standing Order/Henry J Beans (Both easy to find, and Henry's does pitchers of cocktails)
Anyone else who is local got any suggestions?0 -
