Molly41-I hope the meeting with OH has gone ok.
NPM-I hope you feel better soon hun.

My dd has gone back to school today and as I haven't heard anything I presume shes been fine-off to collect her in a few minutes.
I've done another extra shift at work-7-1pm today-thats 10 and a half hours extra this week. It was hard work physicaly this mornig but as I was a 'pair of hands' instead of running a team it didn't take much thinking about.
Washed my uniforms, had some chicken sandwiches for lunch, spoken to mum on the phone and made some lovely creamy mash whilst I've been in-oh and caught up on here! We are having sausage casserole for tea if its still ok. I made it on tuesday for wednesday but with dd being ill she picked at things and I ate leftovers then and yesterday so that and mash today.
Off to Mr S after I collect her and then netto-they have catfood on offer for a couple of days and I need apples and theirs are 99p for 7 and they are the nicest royal galas I've found-I'm not an apple person but I love these.
I've done my meal plan for the next week and am hoping to spend less than £30 from today until next friday-but we'll see. I don't need to spend more but am finding it hard to cut down on my unnecessary spending.
Hope everyone has a good afternoon.

Well Im so upset and angry as they cancelled my meeting - well basically they forgot i was coming. My union rep was fuming and is going to write a very strongly worded letter of complaint. They just dont get the stress I was under preparing for the meeting and the sheer hassle it takes just to get there. My kids dad has to take time off work to drive me to the meeting. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Right...Im ok now. NPM - hope you get over swine flu ok. Im not sure that you able to work as my midwife friend wasn't allowed and she wasn't even a confirmed case but her daughter had it. My son had it at beginning of summer hols and he had Tamiflu as he has asthma and my daughter also had swine flu but didn't take Tamiflu. He got over it sooner with Tamiflu but it came back with avengence a week later. It took Amy longer to recover but she got rid of it properly.

Fairy Elephant - Im so pleased that your pregnancy is going nicely. I was keeping everything crossed for you.

Jayward - thanks for your supportive pm. Its all so frustrating.

Might go and drool over my Lakeland list now. Have resisted the urge to press the pay button for a week now as dont want to impulse buy. Impulse has not gone away though.
    Have a lovely evening,
    Molly
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Ooh, I get later and later! Not much OS happening today (hoping for improvement tomorrow), but we do have little canine house-guest. Mr LW is w*rking late - he'll actually be home in about 20 mins, so we've 2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy for dins, then get the mobility scooter out and take Small Doggy Guest for walkies. I seem to be spending inordinate amounts of time having a toy sheep plonked on my lap at the mo.:rotfl:
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Ooh excited now, Amazon just emailed to say River Cottage Everyday has been dispatched. Should be here in the morning. OH and kids out sailing for the morning so a peaceful time with my new book ahead.

I tried a recipe from The River Cottage Year tonight for mackerel fillets with onions and black olives. It was gorgeous. Although once again I forgot what happens when I give lots of onions to my OH:rolleyes:_pale_
  • Evening everyone.

I am bushed. Been on my feet all day with kids and mindee. Cooked tea (bacon, onion and courgette potato hotpot) and now am working on some childminding paperwork :( Need to get it out of the way otherwise it piles up and I have a busy weekend starting tomorrow.

Needless to say I have read all your posts but to be honest I am too tired to reply to them individually but sending hugs, congratulations where necessary ;)

Had a cup of tea but it's not hitting the spot. I REALLY need a beer.........

You lot are so energetic that I need a lie-down!! Thought that I had done well by taking brother to the airport, taking OH out for breakfast (he paid), finding new butcher where I bought some gigot of pork to roast for dinner, bacon and lamb chops, collecting DGS2 from school, cooking dinner and some blackberry muffins and then collapsing in front of the weakest link....think that I'm 'it' to-day!

NPM...do not attempt to get back to work too early, rest as much as possible so that you make a full recovery first time...what do they expect you to do, go to work when ill so that you infect other people, please take care of yourself.

Really should not be on here, there are dry clothes on line which need to be taken in as it is to rain here to-morrow, which will be such a change!

Hugs to all in need or want, especially those who are stressed for any reason, congratulations to those who are celebrating, welcome to newbies, I will eventually get your names into my thick skull.

    Sleep well all

  • Hi Chums Floss2 & Fairy Elephant its daft getting so excited about such a little thing but when you can't do a simple thing like open a milk carton its so frustrating. An electric one sounds whizzy wonderful I may put it on my list of things to get from Santa at Christmas :)I used one of the odd side bits to open a tin of sweetcorn this evening. It had a ring pull that I can never get to open properly and with my new gadget it went like a dream.
My lovely DGS Danny has been given a three week trial with Endemol, and was so buzzing tonight when he popped in to pick up his car. I have my fingers crossed for him that he will get a permanant job, although it means he has almost a two hour journey morning and night from north Kent to west London everyday. Tomorrow I have to run my DGD Katie to work and take her brother Ben to the music shop so he can get a new string for his guitar so that takes care of the morning .I will be in soup-making mode in the afternoon as I got some leeks from Aldi's today and I want to make a vat of leek & tattie soup for freezing, will probably make a tin of cakes for the little grandchildren as well if I'm in a cooking mood. Well time to toddle as I have a Dean Koontz book from the library that I haven't read yet to get the hairs on my neck rising !!!
    Cheers chums
    JackieO xx
p.s. my DD sent me a copy of a word document of Jamie's new cookery book that has been flying round the internet so I have saved it and will have a shufti at it tomorrow
